  1. 1
A method, comprising:establishing a unicast Evolved Packet Service, EPS, bearer by a user equipment, UE (2401), in an LTE network (2402), wherein the EPS bearer is established for group communication, and the UE (2401) belongs to a communication group having a group ID;receiving access information from the network (2402) for monitoring DL multicast traffic of the DL group communication;monitoring a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service, MBMS, bearer for receiving the DL multicast traffic in MBMS broadcast mode, wherein the MBMS bearer is associated with a Temporary Mobile Group Identifier, TMGI, and wherein the TMGI is associated with the group ID;and entering RRC_IDLE mode and releasing a radio bearer of the unicast EPS bearer while keep monitoring the multicast MBMS bearer for the DL multicast traffic, characterized by the UE (2401) entering RRC_Connected mode and requesting to recover the radio bearer of the unicast bearer for group communication when the UE (2401) detects moving out of MBMS signal coverage.
  2. 2
The method of Claim 1, wherein the UE (2401) performs tracking area update, TAU, to request to recover the radio bearer.
  3. 3
The method of Claim 1 or 2, wherein the UE (2401) receives the DL group communication in MBSFN subframes broadcasted in a camped cell.
  4. 4
The method of Claim 1 or 2, wherein the UE (2401) performs cell reselection in RRC_IDLE mode based on system information broadcasted in the camped cell, wherein the broadcasted system information comprises MBMS service availability information of neighboring cells.
  5. 5
The method of Claim 1 or 2, wherein the UE (2401) receives the DL group communication via monitoring a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH.
  6. 6
The method of Claim 5, wherein the physical resources used for the DL group communication is indicated by the PDCCH addressed to a group RNTI that is linked to the TMGI.
  7. 7
The method of Claim 5, wherein the UE (2401) is notified with the group RNTI when the UE (2401) is in RRC_Connected mode.
  8. 8
The method of Claim 5, wherein the monitoring cycle of the PDCCH is aligned with a paging cycle.
  9. 9
The method of Claim 5, wherein the UE (2401) extends the monitoring of the group RNTI for a fixed amount of time once the UE (2401) receives the DL group communication in RRC_IDLE mode.
  10. 10
The method of Claim 1 or 2, further comprising:requesting RRC establishment with a new cause for group communication after losing the DL multicast traffic reception due to an MBMS coverage hole.
  11. 11
The method of Claim 11, wherein the MBMS coverage hole is detected by recognizing reduced MBMS signal strength without triggering handover-related measurement events.
  12. 12
A User Equipment, UE (2401), comprising:a configuration module adapted to establish a unicast Evolved Packet Service, EPS, bearer in an LTE network (2402), wherein the EPS bearer is adapted to be established for group communication, and the UE (2401) belonging to a communication group having a group ID;a receiver adapted to receive access information from the network (2402) for monitoring DL multicast traffic of the DL group communication;and a group communication module adapted to monitor a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service, MBMS, bearer for receiving the DL multicast traffic in MBMS broadcast mode, wherein the MBMS bearer is adapted to be associated with a Temporary Mobile Group Identifier, TMGI, wherein the TMGI is adapted to be associated with the group ID, and wherein the UE (2401) is adapted to enter RRC_IDLE mode while keep monitoring the MBMS bearer for the DL multicast traffic, characterized by the UE (2401) adapted for entering RRC _Connected mode and requesting to recover the radio bearer of the unicast bearer for group communication when the UE (2401) detects moving out of MBMS signal coverage.
  13. 13
The UE (2401) of Claim 12, wherein the UE (2401) is adapted to receive the DL group communication in MBSFN subframes broadcasted in a camped cell.
  14. 14
The UE (2401) of Claim 12, wherein the UE (2401) is adapted to perform cell reselection in RRC IDLE mode based on system information broadcasted in the camped cell, wherein the broadcasted system information is adapted to comprise MBMS service availability information of neighboring cells.
  15. 15
The UE (2401) of Claim 12, wherein the UE (2401) is adapted to receive the DL group communication via monitoring a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH.
  16. 16
The UE (2401) of Claim 15, wherein the physical resources usable for the DL group communication are adapted to be indicated by the PDCCH addressed to a group RNTI that is linkable to the TMGI.
  17. 17
The UE (2401) of Claim 15, wherein the monitoring cycle of the PDCCH is adapted to be aligned with a paging cycle.
  18. 18
The UE (2401) of Claim 12, wherein the UE (2401) is adapted to request RRC establishment with a new cause for group communication after losing the DL multicast traffic reception due to an MBMS coverage hole.
  19. 19
The UE (2401) of Claim 18, wherein the MBMS coverage hole is detectable by recognizing reduced MBMS signal strength without triggering handover-related measurement events.
