  1. 1
A method carried out by a user equipment, UE (1621), the method comprising:establishing (1901) a unicast Evolved Packet Service, EPS, bearer (1611) in a Long-Term Evolution, LTE, network (1600) for group communication, wherein the UE (1621) belongs to a communication group having a group ID;and receiving (1903) access information from the network (1600) for monitoring a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service, MBMS, bearer (1612) to receive DL multicast traffic of the DL group communication, characterized by the method further comprising: monitoring (1514) DL traffic of the communication group both via the multicast MBMS bearer (1612) and the unicast EPS bearer (1611), and de-multiplexing (1514, 1903) DL traffic received at any given time either from the multicast MBMS bearer (1612) or from the unicast EPS bearer (1611) into a single group communication application.
  2. 2
The method of Claim 1, wherein the UE (1621) receives the DL group communication in MBSFN subframes broadcasted in a serving cell.
  3. 3
The method of Claim 2, wherein the access information comprises MBMS configuration, mapping information between a Temporary Mobile Group Identifier, TMGI, associated with the MBMS bearer (1612) and the group ID of the UE (1621).
  4. 4
The method of Claim 2, wherein the UE (1621) acquires scheduling information based on control information broadcasted in system information block.
  5. 5
The method of Claim 1, wherein the UE (1621) is not configured with a feedback channel for retransmission for the DL group communication on the MBMS bearer (1612).
  6. 6
The method of Claim 1, wherein the UE (1621) applies physical layer repetitive transmission for receiving the DL group communication on the MBMS bearer (1612) to increase robustness.
  7. 7
The method of Claim 6, wherein the physical layer repetitive transmission is performed in different frequency domain resources at the same time.
  8. 8
The method of Claim 1, wherein the UE (1621) receives the DL group communication by monitoring a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH.
  9. 9
The method of Claim 8, wherein the access information comprises MBMS configuration, mapping information between a Temporary Mobile Group Identifier, TMGI, associated with the MBMS bearer (1612) and the group ID of the UE (1621), and a group radio identifier, g-RNTI.
  10. 10
The method of Claim 9, wherein the UE (1621) acquires scheduling information via the PDCCH addressed to the group radio identifier.
  11. 11
The method of Claim 9, wherein the group radio identifier is linked to the TMGI, and wherein the group radio identifier is obtained via RRC signaling or via a predefined linking rule to the TMGI.
  12. 12
The method of Claim 8, wherein the UE (1622) and other UEs (1623, 1624) belonging to the same communication group are configured with a common feedback channel for the DL group communication on the MBMS bearer (1612).
  13. 13
The method of Claim 8, wherein the UE (1622) and other UEs (1623, 1624) belonging to different communication groups share a common group radio identifier for DL group traffic scheduling.
  14. 14
The method of Claim 13, wherein individual TMGIs in MAC sub-headers are used to distinguish the DL group traffic from different groups.
  15. 15
The method of Claim 8, wherein uplink grants for the UE (1622) and other UEs (1623, 1624) from the same communication group are scheduled in the same PDCCH.
  16. 16
The method of Claim 15, wherein individual C-RNTIs in MAC sub-headers are used to distinguish the UL grants for the different UEs (1622, 1623, 1624).
  17. 17
A user equipment, UE, (201, 1621) comprising:a configuration module (222) adapted to establish a unicast Evolved Packet Service, EPS, bearer (1611) in a Long-Term Evolution, LTE, network (1600) for group communication, wherein the UE (201, 1621) belongs to a communication group having a group ID;and a receiver (213) adapted to receive access information from the network (1600) for monitoring a multicast Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service, MBMS, bearer (1612) to receive DL multicast traffic of the DL group communication, characterized by the UE (201, 1621) further comprising: a group communication module (227) adapted to monitor DL traffic of the communication group both via the multicast MBMS bearer (1612) and the unicast EPS bearer (1611), and to de-multiplex DL traffic receivable at any given time either from the multicast MBMS bearer (1612) or from the unicast EPS bearer (1611) into a single group communication application.
