  2. 4
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the retaining means is disposed between adjacent positioning arches (10, 54) at the distal end (2, 52) of the endoprosthesis (1), wherein the retaining means is preferably connected to the positioning arches (10, 54) by a connecting web (16, 56) extending in a longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis (1), wherein the retaining means preferably includes at least one barb (17), wherein the barb (17) preferably has a tip that points towards the proximal end (3) of the endoprosthesis (1), wherein the retaining means is preferably an eye (30).
  3. 5
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein the retaining means are adapted to be moved into a releasable engagement with a fixing mechanism of an insertion system, and preferably with a pocket formed in a crown of a fixing mechanism of a catheter tip.
  4. 6
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the retaining means is an imperforate retaining head (55).
  5. 7
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein each retaining arch (20, 53) includes a barb portion (41) extending towards the distal end (2, 52) of the endoprosthesis (1), said barb portion (41) preferably being in the shape of an arch which stands proud of the retaining arch (20, 53) when the endoprosthesis (1) is in situ, and wherein the barb portion (41) has preferably a substantially U- or V-shaped structure which is closed at the distal end, the distal region of the barb portion (41) forming the tip of the anchoring support (25), and the barb portion (41) being joined at its proximal end to adjacent retaining arches (20, 53).
  6. 8
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 7, wherein the retaining arches (20, 53) are provided with one or more slots (24) extending in a longitudinal direction, the length each slot (24) being preferably interrupted with a reinforcing portion (26).
  7. 9
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the endoprosthesis (1) has a minimised configuration in which it can be delivered to an implantation site, and an expanded configuration.
  8. 12
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 11, in which the retaining means comprise a fixing eye (30) disposed respectively between two adjacent positioning arches (10, 54) and the respective arms of the adjacent positioning arches (10, 54) on the one hand and the respective arms of the retaining arches (20, 53) associated with the adjacent positioning arches (10, 54) on the other hand are joined to the fixing eye (30).
  9. 14
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of the claims 1 to 13, in which respective arms of the retaining arches (20, 53) each have an anchoring support (25) in the shape of an arch which stands proud of the associated arm (21) of the retaining arch (20, 53) when the endoprosthesis (1) is in the expanded state, and its tip points in the direction of the distal end (2, 52) of the endoprosthesis (1), wherein the anchoring support (25) preferably has an essentially U-shaped or V-shaped structure, which is closed at the distal end (2, 52) of the endoprosthesis (1), and the distal region of the anchoring support (25) forms the tip of the anchoring support (25), and the respective arms of the anchoring support (25) at the proximal end of the anchoring support (25) are joined to the respective arms of two adjacent retaining arches (20, 53).
  10. 15
A self-expandable endoprosthesis (1) as claimed in any one of the claims 1 to 14, in which slots (24) are provided in the respective retaining arches (20, 53) extending in the longitudinal direction of the retaining arches (20, 53), which are designed to influence the second mode of the endoprosthesis (1), said respective retaining arches (20, 53) preferably having reinforcing portions (26) which interrupt the slots (24) extending in the longitudinal direction of the retaining arches (20, 53).
