System and method for determining the position of a wireless CDMA transceiver

A method and system for determining the position of a mobile wireless transceiver. A base station receives a first signal transmitted from a first GPS satellite and a second signal transmitted from a second GPS satellite. A wireless transceiver in wireless communication with said base station receives the first and second signals and transmits a third signal to the base station in response thereto. The third signal is received at the base station and the position of the wireless transceiver is calculated in response thereto. A distance between the wireless transceiver and the base station is then determined.
