  1. 1
An apparatus comprising a cassette (1100) for controlling movement of blood and separated blood components, the cassette (1100) comprising:a rigid plastic housing (1101);flexible tube loops (1120-1124) extending out of the housing (1101);flexible tubing (1106-1119) other than loops extending into, within, and out from of the housing (1101);and at least three exposed sections of flexible tube within the housing (1101) exposed on one side of the housing (1101) so that fluid flow through an exposed section can be prevented when pressure is exerted on the selected exposed section from the exposed side;wherein the side of the housing (1101) where the flexible tubes are exposed comprises apertures (1137, 1157) through which pressure can be exerted on the exposed sections;and the housing (1101) has an opposing side which comprises a molded occluder bar (1173), the occluder bar being adapted to resist the exerted pressure so as to close off each selected section of tubing between the aperture (1157) and the opposing side of the housing to thereby prevent fluid flow through those selected sections of tubing, characterised in that the occluder bar traverses the exposed section of three of the flexible tubes.
  2. 4
The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 3 wherein the rigid plastic housing (1101) has a top section and a bottom section which together form an internal space, the bottom section comprising the aperture (1157) for accessing the three exposed flexible tube sections.
  3. 5
The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 4 having five tube loops and six apertures.
  4. 6
The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein the housing (1101) has a top section and a bottom section which together form an internal space, the bottom section comprising the aperture (1157) for accessing the exposed flexible tube sections, the molded occluder bar (1173) on the side of the top section facing the internal space and opposed to the aperture (1157), the cassette (1100) adapted to allow at least one actuator to selectively close off fluid flow in the exposed section of a flexible tubing by pressing the flexible tubing through the aperture and against the molded occluder bar (1173).
  5. 7
The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 6 having a filter in fluid communication with at least one flexible tube.
  6. 8
The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 7 having six apertures (1137, 1157) in the bottom section, corresponding molded ridges (1163, 1173) in the top section opposed to the apertures (1137, 1157), and at least one section of flexible tubing between each aperture and each molded ridge;five tube loops;and a hub (1140) adapted to connect five sections of tube.
