  1. 1
An apparatus for separating components of a fluid comprising:an outer housing (100A) with an upper housing end (110A) and a lower housing end (190A), wherein said outer housing (100A) increases in diameter from said upper housing end (110A) to said lower housing end (190A), said lower housing end (190A) having a housing floor (180A) and said housing upper end (110A) having a housing outlet (700A), said outer housing (100A) adapted for rotation about a center axis;said outer housing (100A) containing a core (200A) in its interior volume (710A);the core (200A) having an outer wall (210A), an upper core end (205A), and a lower core end (295A);said core (200A) being connected with said outer housing (100A) for rotation therewith;and providing a separation volume between said core (200A) and said outer housing (100A);said core end having a lumen connector (481A) and a lumen connector top surface (482A);a lumen providing fluid communications from the housing outlet (700A) extending axially along center axis to housing floor (180A);and a connection sleeve (500A) which forms with the lumen connector a chamber and provide fluid communications between the housing outlet (700A) and the separation volume;and characterised by : a further lumen for providing fluid communication from the housing outlet (700A) through the lumen connector (481A) and then radially outward through the core (200A) to the fluid separation volume, the further lumen hereinafter referred to as the first lumen and the first mentioned lumen hereinafter referred to as the second lumen.
  2. 4
An apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 3 wherein said outer wall of said core (200A) increases in diameter from said upper end (205A) to said lower end (295A).
  3. 5
An apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein connection sleeve (500A) is adapted to be secured to said apparatus near said housing outlet (700A) of said outer housing (100A) for rotation therewith, said connection sleeve (500A) being adapted to fluidly connect a first bowl channel, second bowl channels, and a chamber.
  4. 10
The apparatus of any one of claims 6 to 9 wherein the height (404A) of lumen (400A) and the height of lumen wall (324A) are about the same.
