FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a modular control system for public telephone stations intended for nationwide integral management of public telephone stations, including overall control, i.e., telephone set-up, alarm collection, fault repair, reception of charges and daily procedures, temporary or permanently disconnected subscribers. “simultaneous” preparation of statistical and profit reports. The invention is applicable in the field of telecommunications and is particularly directed to the improvement of public telephone stations and services provided to users of such stations.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Although today there are a number of systems aimed at a concerted effort to provide these services or to maintain public telephone stations, it was by no means intended to integrate the management of the telephone.
To manage telephony services, the company must use different departments to jointly perform the entrusted functions, and there is currently no multi-functional public telephony management system performing services provided to users while enhancing actual services with the benefits derived therefrom.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The public telephone station control system of the invention is fully effective in terms of nationwide integral public telephone management and will undoubtedly bring significant improvements to the services provided by these public telephone stations, in particular higher, speed of access to the switched telephone network and a wider range of services.
The services consist in the possibility now provided by public telephones to pay for the relevant services by using various types of credit cards, such as credit, subscription, subscriber, multi-sour cherry and other similar cards.
The public telephone station control system according to the invention essentially comprises the following elements:
A. Public Telephone Stations - MT.
B. Verification and Identification Units of Public Telephone Stations - VIU.
C. Adans of Public Telephone Stations - I.ITAU.
D. Operating system of public telephone stations - MTOS.
33. Verification and charging center for credit cards and public telephone station subscriber cards - VIC.
P. Public telephone verification and identification unit maintenance unit.
Transfers between the individual elements making up the system do not take place via two different communication protocols.
The first of these protocols is used in STN switched telephony networks, using a V. 23 modem at 1200 bps.
The second protocol is used in IHSRPAC network connections with X.25 packet switching at 2.400 bps.
The second protocol can also be used in packet-switched ΙΒΞΒPAC networks for an actual X.25 call, and at speeds lower than those used in the aforementioned protocols.
