Subcutaneous suturing device for closing abdominal wall port of a patient

Instrument permitting closed by subcutaneous suture a hole (1) made in the abdominal wall (2) of a patient for the passage of a trocar that has served for surgery laparoscopically, comprising a cylindrical rigid cannula (3) of the an end portion (4) can be inserted into the opening (1); a piston (5) extending coaxially in the cannula (3) and is operable from outside by an operator; two needles (7) fixed removably on diametrically opposite ends of a support member (8, 26) in turn supported at the end portion (4) of the cannula (3), characterized in that the support member (8 , 26) can occupy, by the action of the piston (5), a folded position in which the needles (7) are retracted in the end portion (4) of the cannula and a deployed position upon introduction of the cannula ( 3) in the hole (1), wherein the needles (7) completely forming a projection out of the cannula below the abdominal wall (2) through respectively two longitudinal windows (10) of the side wall of the cannula (3), inclined relative to the longitudinal axis of the cannula (3) at both sides thereof and facing each other; means (15) for extracting the needles (7) slidably mounted on the cannula (3) concentrically with the piston (5) and manoeuvrable by the operator to move it from a low position in the end portion (4) of the cannula (3 ) to a high position in the upper end portion thereof, to catch simultaneously during said movement, the two needles (7) previously introduced in the abdominal wall (2) obliquely penetrating towards each other in the opening (1) and the cannula (3) through said, and removing them from the support member (8, 26) to lead them in the cannula (3) with concomitant passage of a suture (25) in the abdominal wall longitudinal windows (10) ( 2) and the cannula (3), the thread (25) its solidary ends on the two needles (7) and defining a loop (25a) located on the outside of the cannula through the opening (1) outside abdominal wall (2), while then, the operator can grab and sever the wire ends (25), following the complete withdrawal of the cannula (3) of the hole (1), to close the hole by making a knot with the two sections of wire (25).
