Abstract
one. The use of a flowing site-specific sustained release pharmaceutical composition in the manufacture of a medicament for treating hematoma expansion or recurrent bleeding due to a hemorrhagic condition in the brain, where the pharmaceutical composition contains: (i) a therapeutic amount of at least one hemostatic agent and (ii) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, where the carrier contains many microparticles, moreover, the therapeutic agent is dispersed in each microparticle; and the composition is formulated for administration locally into a cavity or space, hematoma or subdural space on the surface of the brain, and characterized by that a therapeutic amount is effective to reduce hematoma expansion or recurrent bleeding compared with the untreated control without entering the systemic circulation in an amount, causing unwanted side effects. 2. The use according to claim 1, where the hemorrhagic condition is the result of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The use according to claim 1, characterized in that the hemorrhagic state is bleeding after surgical evacuation of the hematoma. The use according to claim 1, wherein the hemorrhagic condition is a chronic subdural hematoma (CSH). The use according to claim 1, wherein the hemorrhagic condition is an intracerebral hematoma (VMH). The use according to claim 5, wherein the intracerebral hematoma is a spontaneous intracerebral hematoma (VMH). The use according to claim 5, wherein the intracerebral hematoma is a traumatic intracerebral hematoma (VMH). The use according to claim 1, where the hemorrhagic
