Optimizing communication using scaleable peer groups
Abstract
one. A method for dynamically adjusting the communication mechanism used to transmit peer-to-peer messages at a peer configured to communicate with another peer from one or more receiving peers over a network, comprising the steps in which:! identify many communication mechanisms for transmitting a peer-to-peer message from a peer to a receiving peer. ! it is automatically determined that at least one initial communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms is preferable to another communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms; ! said at least one initial communication mechanism is automatically selected; and! send a peer message to the receiving peer using the selected at least one initial communication mechanism. ! 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of sending a peer message to a receiving peer using the selected at least one initial communication mechanism comprises an action in which a communication mechanism is randomly selected from among a plurality of communication mechanisms. ! 3. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of caching a communication channel that includes the selected at least one initial communication mechanism. ! four. The method of claim 3, further comprising the step of receiving state information about the receiving peer, which indicates that at least one other communication mechanism is preferred with respect to at least one initial communication mechanism. ! five. - 1A method for dynamically adjusting communication mechanism used to transmit peer to peer communications node configured to communicate with another peer of one or more recipient peers over a network, comprising steps during which:1.
- 2identify a plurality of communication mechanisms for the transmission of messages from the peer peer to the receiving peer. 2.
- 3automatically determining that at least one initial communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms is preferable to another communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms;3. автоматически определяют, что по меньшей мере один начальный механизм связи из множества механизмов связи является предпочтительным по отношению к другому механизму связи из множества механизмов связи;
- 4automatically selects the at least one initial communication mechanism;and 4.
- 5The message sent to a peer to the receiving peer node selected using said at least one initial communication mechanism. 5.
- 11automatically selecting at least one other communication mechanism;and 11.
- 12replaced automatically at least one initial communication mechanism in the communication channel selected by at least one other communication mechanism. 12.
- 20identify the central object tracking or other central tracking object belonging to another from one or more peers that there is no log entry indicating that another peer message was received from any one or more peers;and 20.
- 21The process different peer message. 21.
- 23registration record is identified in the central tracking object or a different central tracking object owned by another of the one or more peers, the registration entry indicating that the different peer message has been received by at least one of the one or more peers;and 23.
- 24The process different peer message. 24.
- 29identify the mode of the application pertaining to the computer system for the peer;and 29.
- 30determining which of the first or second communication channel is more efficient for the identified application mode;and 30.
- 31associate certain first or second communication channel with the application. 31.
- 3320. The computer-readable medium for use in a system where a peer computer system is configured to communicate with another peer of one or more recipient peer computer systems over a network, wherein the computer readable medium comprises mashinnoispolnyaemye instructions stored thereon which, when executed, cause one or more processors to perform the method of dynamic adjustment mechanism of communication used by a peer computer system to send messages consisting of the following:20.
- 34identify a plurality of communication mechanisms for the transmission of messages from the peer peer to the receiving peer;34. идентифицируют множество механизмов связи для передачи однорангового сообщения из однорангового узла на получающий одноранговый узел;
- 35automatically determining that at least one initial communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms is preferable to another communication mechanism of the plurality of communication mechanisms;35. автоматически определяют, что по меньшей мере один начальный механизм связи из множества механизмов связи является предпочтительным по отношению к другому механизму связи из множества механизмов связи;
- 36automatically select the at least one initial communication mechanism;and 36.
