The invention relates to a mop for polishing floors and other surfaces, as stated in the preamble of claim 1.

From Spanish application pattern No. 175 229, a polishing device is known which consists of a flat coating with a rigid metal holder embedded therein. The holder enters the cover through an opening with a zipper. The holder consists of an elongated ring and a central device for attaching a handle, which passes through an opening in the cover. From the cover hangs some rows of string, which are attached with a stitch. The insertion of the metal holder through the opening in the coating, after the handle is first disassembled, is relatively complicated.

Also a cleaning device known from Spanish usage pattern 278 339 consists of a flexible, elongated fabric part, with some fringes along the edges. On the upper side are mounted pockets, for insertion of a flexible hinge holder with shaft. The drying and polishing takes place unfavorably with the same lower surface elements on the drying part, so that during the drying, which takes place under pressure, the dirt sucked up during the drying will be pushed back against the floor.

The object of the present invention is to design a mop of the type mentioned in the introduction so that with respect to the drying part, the polishing is made possible by two simultaneous processes with different pressure intensities against the relevant surface.

This object is achieved according to the invention with a combination of characteristic features set forth in claim 1. Advantageous variants are stated in the subclaims.

The new mop is characterized by a build-up of flat floor fabrics, which floor fabrics consist of an upper group of fabrics with a circumferential step-down of the superficial floor surface structures, so that the surface sizes decrease from top to bottom. The outer edges have incisions that form fringe173045 similar stripes. The lower group consists of the same size, but smaller than the upper floral fabrics. The individual fabrics are connected to each other by means of seams. The upper fabric surface has a central opening and two respective mutually opposite pockets, where a holder for connecting a shaft can be inserted. The location and size of these pockets must match exactly the location and size of the lower fabric group.

In one embodiment, the individual layers are held together by means of long seams extending along the long centerline of the rectangular floor, except for the upper fabric, and at other seams around the central opening 1 of the upper fabric and its pockets, along oval, closed lines. , including including the upper fabric only with the direct underlying.

Another advantageous embodiment is one in which a plurality of adjacent seams extending around the central opening of the upper fabric, as described above, all floral fabric layers are interconnected.

A variant according to the invention is also one in which the pockets are attached directly to the underlying fabric by means of a separate stitch.

The opposing pockets of the upper fabric may also be formed by twisting the two fabric portions (patches) which appear at the cut-out of the central opening in the upper floor fabric.

The invention can be explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings, in which figure 1 shows the various components of the mop, and its holder, figure 2 shows a view of the top side of the mop, figure 3 shows a basic view of the bottom side of the mop, and figure 4 shows a section through the mop, following line IV-IV in Figure 3.

The mop 1 is connected to a holder 2 for connecting a shaft 3, for manual handling. According to the invention, the mop 1 consists of a flat structure of suction-resistant flooring material. This is held by seams and it has a substantially rectangular shape, with rounded corners, or it may have an oval shape.

Said fabrics include an upper group of four fabrics, 4, 5, 6, 7, in the present embodiment, whose surface contents decrease from top to bottom and whose edges are thus stepped. The edges have incisions that form fringe strips

8. Furthermore, the fabrics include a lower group of in Figure 1 two identical fabrics 9 and 10. These are smaller than the directly subsequent upper fabric 7 and have a smooth edge.

The said fabrics, added together, are fastened with some central seams 11 in the longitudinal direction. These seams hold all the fabrics together, except for the upper fabric 4. Other seams 12, which extend in a closed line and delimit an inner part, connect the upper fabric 4 with the directly subsequent fabric 5, which is clearly shown in the figures. 2 and 4.

The upper fabric 4 has a central rectangular opening 13, from which it protrudes two patch-shaped parts 14 (Figure 1). The two parts are turned inwards to form pockets 15, which are attached with some seams 16 (Figures 2 and 4).

The pockets 15 serve to record the ends of the holder 2. The holder normally consists of a flat, semi-rigid part of artificial resin, with edge ribs 17 and grooves 18 to make it elastic, and the holder further has a central portion 19 between two openings 20. In the central portion 19 there is a hinge device for connection with a connecting arm 22 for said shaft 3.

A peculiarity of the new mop 1 is that the fabrics 9 and 10 in the lower fabric group correspond to the holder 2 in terms of position and extent. This gives the mop a central zone for scouring a surface with pressure. The pressure is transferred from the shaft 3 to these lower fabrics 9 and 10, and for a soft drying an outer part consisting of fringes of the fabrics 4, 5, 6 and 7 is available. Therefore, it is possible with the new mop to simultaneously affect the surface treated with two different pressure effects, so that at the same time a better cleaning and polishing effect can be achieved.
