Logic circuitry

Abstract

In an example, a method includes, in response to a first command sent to an address of logic circuitry associated with a replaceable print apparatus component (104, 200) via a serial data bus (500), generating, by the logic circuitry, a low voltage condition on the serial data bus (500). The method may further include monitoring a duration of the low voltage condition using a timer (706) of the logic circuitry.

  1. 1
CLAIMS 1. A method comprising, in response to a first command sent to an address of logic circuitry associated with a replaceable print apparatus component (104, 200) via a serial data bus (500), the first command specifying a first time period, generating, by the logic circuitry, a low voltage condition on the serial data bus (500) based on the first time period;monitoring a duration of the low voltage condition using a timer (706) of the logic circuitry without reference to a clock signal of the serial data bus;and outside of the time period, removing the low voltage condition, such that the serial data bus (500) assumes a different, high and/or default, voltage state or condition.
  2. 9
A logic circuitry package (204, 700, 812) for association with a replaceable print apparatus component (104, 200) comprising:logic (702), a timer (706), and a serial data bus interface (704), wherein the serial data bus interface (704) is to interface with a serial data bus of a print apparatus (102, 300), wherein the logic (702) is, in response to a first command sent to a first address of the logic circuitry package via the serial data bus (500) connected to the serial data bus interface (704), the first command specifying a time period, to generate a low voltage condition on the serial data bus (500) based on the time period and to monitor a duration of the time period, using the timer (706), without reference to a clock signal of the serial data bus (500);and to, outside of the time period, cause the serial data bus (500) to assume a different, high and/or default, voltage state or condition.
  3. 12
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 11 wherein the logic (702) is to output an acknowledge response upon receiving the first command before generating the low voltage condition.
  4. 13
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 12 wherein the logic (702) is to generate a low voltage condition on the serial data bus within the duration of the time period.
  5. 14
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 13 wherein the logic (702) is configured to generate the low voltage condition for the time period specified in the first command.
  6. 15
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 14 wherein the first command specifies a time period and the logic (702) is to generate a low voltage condition on the serial data bus for substantially the duration of the time period.
  7. 16
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 15 further comprising a memory (708), wherein, in response to a second command, the logic is to write data received via the serial data bus interface (704) to the memory (708).
  8. 17
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 16 further comprising a memory (708), wherein, in response to a read request, the logic (702) is to read data from the memory (708) and to transmit a data signal via the serial data bus interface (704).
  9. 18
A logic circuitry package according to any of claims 9 to 17 wherein the serial data bus interface (704) is an I2C data bus interface.
  10. 21
A replaceable print apparatus component (104, 200) comprising a logic circuitry package (204, 700, 812) according to any of claims 9 to 20.
  11. 22
A replaceable print apparatus cartridge (800) to connect to a print apparatus (102, 300), comprising a reservoir (206), containing a coloured print material, and a logic circuitry package (204, 700, 812) of any of claims 9 to 20:wherein the logic (702) is, in response to a first command to determine a location of the replaceable print apparatus cartridge (800) when connected to the print apparatus (102, 300), the first command sent to a first address of the logic circuitry package (204, 700, 812) via the serial data bus connected to the serial data bus interface (704), the first command specifying a time period, to generate a low voltage condition on the serial data bus (500) based on the time period and to monitor a duration of the time period, using the timer (706), without reference to a clock signal of the serial data bus (500);and to, outside of the time period, cause the serial data bus (500) to assume a different, high and/or default, voltage state or condition.
