The present invention relates to a reinforced and repaired elastomeric article, comprising: a) the elastomer article, said elastomer having unsaturated groups therein, such article being cured and having a gap therein; b) a cured elastomer patch, such a patch being cured and located in juxtaposition to said gap; c) a treatment agent, such treatment agent coating said gap and said article, in the area of ​​juxtaposition of the patch, said treatment agent being selected from the group consisting of N-halohydantoins, N-halcamides, N-haloimides and combinations thereof; d) an amine curable polymer or prepolymer, such amine curable polymer or prepolymer, substantially filling the said gap, the amine curable polymer or prepolymer is also located between said patch and said article in the mentioned juxtaposition area; e) such amine curable polymer or prepolymer, being bound to said patch and said gap, at room temperature.
