    A multi-pack coating kit comprising:a first container comprising an architectural coating, an automotive coating, a can coating, a chemical agent resistant coating, a camouflage coating, a traffic marker coating, an aircraft coating, or a nuclear power plant coating;and a second container comprising a particulate material prepared from a biological cell or a virus, wherein the particulate material comprises an insoluble, isolated and purified fragment of the biological cell or virus, wherein the insoluble, isolated and purified fragment comprises a biomolecule retained from the biological cell or virus, and wherein the average dry molecular weight of a single particle of the particulate material is between 50 kilodaltons and 1.5 x 10 14 kilodaltons.

    A method of making an architectural coating, an automotive coating, a can coating, a chemical agent resistant coating, a camouflage coating, a traffic marker coating, an aircraft coating, or a nuclear power plant coating, comprising the step of admixing a particulate material to at least one additional coating component, wherein the particulate material is prepared from a biological cell or a virus, wherein the particulate material comprises an insoluble, isolated and purified fragment of the biological cell or virus, wherein the insoluble, isolated and purified fragment comprises a biomolecule retained from the biological cell or virus, and wherein the average dry molecular weight of a single particle of the particulate material is between 50 kilodaltons and 1.5 x 10 14 kilodaltons.

    A method of utilizing an architectural coating, an automotive coating, a can coating, a chemical agent resistant coating, a camouflage coating, a traffic marker coating, an aircraft coating, or a nuclear power plant coating, comprising applying the coating to an inanimate object, wherein the coating comprises a particulate material prepared from a biological cell or a virus, wherein the particulate material comprises an insoluble, isolated and purified fragment of the biological cell or virus, wherein the insoluble, isolated and purified fragment comprises a biomolecule retained from the biological cell or virus, and wherein the average dry molecular weight of a single particle of the particulate material is between 50 kilodaltons and 1.5 x 10 14 kilodaltons.
