    CLAIMS 1) A mobile backpack comprises of a plastic backpack, high pressure cylinder, tank or cylinder boot, and securing harness. The backpack is secured to the high pressure cylinder by a clamping action harness. Two shoulder straps and a waist strap enable the total unit to be secured to the diver. At the bottom of the cylinder is a tight fitting hard rubber boot which protects the cylinder and allows it to stand vertically when the not in use. To one side of the cylinder boot and set in two recesses are two wheels mounted on a strong axle. At the top of the backpack is a suitably dimensioned handle which acts in slides and positively locates the handle in a lower and extended position. An over centre cam clamp which passes through the backpack secures the handle in the upper and lower positions .

    2) The mobile backpack as claimed in claim (1) allows the unit to stand vertically.

    3) The sliding handle as claimed in claim (1) can be released using the cam clamp and extended and again secured using the cam clamp.

    4) When the unit is set up as in claim (2) and claim (3) using the extended handle it can be tilted over allowing the protruding wheels as claimed in claim (1) to come into contact with the ground, permitting easy movement from one location to another.

    5) When the sliding handle as claimed in claim (1), (3) and (4) is secured in the lower position using the cam clamp, the unit can be strapped to the diver using the harness, as claimed in claim (1) and used underwater as a standard backpack unit.
