DESCRIPTION
Washer, fixing element provided with a washer, procedure and motorized tool for fixing objects.
The present invention relates to a washer, a fixing element provided with a washer, a method and a power tool for fixing objects.
It is known to fix objects to each other by power tools using fixation elements provided with a multi-part replacement nut, including, for example, an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve, and a washer. Such a replacement nut is described, for example, in US-A-5,341,560. Another replacement nut is described in US 6,254,323, in which a bolt has a groove under its upper thread, to which a washer is non-rotatably connected, and the bolt also has meshing means for applying a force. reaction, while an active force from the same tool rotates the nut over the bolt thread and onto the face of the washer. In the fastener described in the two aforementioned patents, the common characteristics are the use of the action and reaction force of a tool, the elimination of reaction arms on power tools, the conversion of the elongation of the bolt with torsion to elongation of the bolt without torsion, and obtaining the desired residual bolt load, instead of a torque that is calculated based on estimated friction rather than based on actual friction or tension that is based on the estimated bolt loosening when the force is transmitted from the elongated bolt to the hand-tightened nut.
Some solutions are described in US 6,609,868 and in my US patent applications, Serial Nos. 10 / 112,101, 10 / 120,343 and 10 / 427,103. A solution according to the preamble of claim 1 is described in EP-A-1,318,316.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a washer, a fixing element provided with a washer, a method and a power tool for fixing objects using the washer, thereby providing other solutions to the problems specified above.
The present invention provides a washer according to claim 1, a fastener for connecting two parts according to claim 4, a method for assembling at least two parts according to claim 7, and a power tool according to claim 8. Preferred features u Optional features of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.
The invention, both as regards its construction and its method of operation, will be better understood from the following description of specific embodiments, given by way of example only, when read in connection with the attached drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a view showing a washer according to the present invention;
Figure 2 is a view showing a fastener with a washer and a tool applied to the fastener, and illustrating a fastening method in accordance with the present invention; and Figure 3 is a view showing another embodiment of the washer according to the present invention.
Figure 1 shows a washer according to the present invention. The washer, which is identified with the reference numeral 1, has a body 2. The body 2 of the washer 1 has a first upper bearing face surface 3 adapted to cooperate with a nut, a second lower bearing face surface 4 adapted to cooperate with an object, and at least one third rotation resistant surface identified with reference numeral 5. The at least third rotation-resistant surface 5 is located radially inward and is formed to wedge-like into a thread of the bolt, for example by providing a corresponding thread on the rotation-resistant surface 5. The body 2 of the Washer 1 is composed of two parts 7 and 8 located substantially radially adjacent to each other, such that part 7 is located radially inward of part 8. The rotation resistant surface 5 with the thread 6 is arranged radially inward on the part 7.
The part 7 has a skirt-shaped portion 33, which is received in a correspondingly shaped lower portion 34 of an opening of the part 8. The formations 33, 34, form a point of resistance of the washer. When the part 7 is stretched upward after stopping the rotation of the bolt, the skirt-shaped portion 33 of the part is slightly and permanently deformed to fit the size of the straight portion of the inner opening of the part 8, so as to to allow rear upward sliding of part 7 as the bolt lengthens.
In this embodiment, initially one part of the washer prevents the axial displacement of the other part, and then the point of resistance is overcome and the other part is displaced axially with respect to the one part without breaking the body of the washer or its parts. .
Figure 2 shows a fixing element provided with the washer, and with a tool applied to the fixing element. The fixing element has a nut 10 having an internal thread 11. The fixing element further has a bolt 12 provided with an external thread 13 and having a shaft A2. Nut 10 has a
ES 2 276 239 T3 lower bearing face surface 14 which is adapted to be placed on the upper bearing face surface 3 of the body 2 of the washer 1. The upper thread 13 of the bolt 12 meshes with the inner thread 11 of the nut 10, and also meshes with an internal thread 6 of the body 2 of the washer 1.
A power tool according to the present invention is shown in Figure 2 and is identified with reference number 15. The power tool has a housing that is identified with reference number 20 and a control system that is identified with reference number 20. reference 21. The control system is constituted for example by a cylinder-piston.
The fixing element with the washer is provided to fix an object that is identified with reference numeral 18, in particular, to assemble together the parts 19 and 19 'of the object 18.
When, as shown in Figure 2, the power tool 15 is placed on the fastener to tighten or loosen the nut, the rotating element 16 that is connected to the nut 10 rotates the nut to overcome thread friction. with bolt 12 and face friction with washer 1 to rotate nut, and non-rotating element 17 holds washer 1 to absorb reaction force due to face friction of washer 1 with nut 10, to its face friction with one side of the part 19 ', and to its rotational friction with the bolt 12, such that the washer 1 does not rotate but absorbs the reaction force of the power tool. Initially, when the nut 10 rotates, the bolt 12 rotates together with the nut; however, the fixed washer 1 presses the fixed part 7 inside the bolt thread 13, such that the bolt stops rotating due to the inter-engagement of its external thread 13 with the thread 6 of the washer 1. Consequently, the bolt 12 stops, and an axial force is applied on the washer 1, in particular on its part 7 in an upward axial direction when the bolt 12 is elongated by the rotating nut 10. Under the action of this upward axial force, the point of resistance of the washer is exceeded and in particular the skirt-shaped portion 33 of the part 7 is slightly and permanently deformed to adapt to the size of the straight portion of the inner opening. of part 8, to allow subsequent upward sliding of part 7 as the bolt elongates.
Figure 3 is a view showing yet another embodiment of the present invention. The washer is identified with the reference number 1 'and has a body 2'. The body 2 'of the washer 1' has a first upper bearing surface 3 'adapted to cooperate with the nut, a second lower bearing face surface 4' adapted to cooperate with an object, and at least a third surface resistant to the rotation identified with the reference number 5 '. The at least one third rotation resistant surface 5 'is located radially inward and is formed to wedge-fit into a thread of the bolt, for example by providing a corresponding thread 6' on the rotation resistant surface 5 ' . The body 2 'of the washer 1' is composed of two parts 7 'and 8' located substantially radially adjacent to each other, such that the part 7 'is located radially towards the inside of the part 8'. The rotation resistant surface 5 'together with the thread 6' is arranged radially towards the inside of the part 7 '.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 3, the part 7 'is provided in its lower portion with an outer knurled portion 35 which is received in a correspondingly shaped lower portion 36 of an opening of the part 8'. The knurled portion 35 of the part 7 'is press fit into the lower portion 36 of the opening of the part 8'. During operation, when the bolt stops and lengthens, the knurled portion 35 is crushed but leaves enough friction to allow upward movement of part 7 'relative to part 8' without rotating.
It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together, may also find useful application in other types of constructions different from the types described above.
Although the invention has been illustrated and described for making a washer, a fixing element provided with a washer, and a method and a power tool for fixing an object using the washer, it is not intended to be limited to the details shown, but rather they may make structural modifications and changes provided they do not depart from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
