  1. 1
An assembly, comprising:a delivery apparatus (100) comprising: an outer shaft (104);a torque shaft (110) extending through the outer shaft (104), the torque shaft (110) being rotatable relative to the outer shaft (104) but fixed against axial movement relative to the outer shaft (104), a distal end portion of the torque shaft (110) having an outer surface comprising external threads or grooves;a sheath retaining ring (150) disposed on the threads or grooves of the torque shaft (110) and fixed against rotational movement upon rotation of the torque shaft (110);a delivery sheath (106) connected to the sheath retaining ring (150);and a valve retaining mechanism (114) comprising an outer fork (130) and an inner fork (132), the outer fork (130) being configured to cooperate with the inner fork (132) to form a releasable connection with retaining arms (30) of a stent (12) of a prosthetic valve (10), the assembly further comprising: a prosthetic valve (10) pre-connected to the valve retaining mechanism (114) of the delivery apparatus (100) distal to the delivery sheath (106), a storage tube assembly (3000) having an inner surface formed by a proximal bore (3068) configured to contain the delivery sheath (106), a distal bore (3066) configured to contain the prosthetic valve (10) in a partially compressed state, and a tapered surface (3064) extending from the distal bore (3066) to the proximal bore (3068), a diameter of the distal bore (3066) being greater than a diameter of the proximal bore (3068), wherein the proximal bore (3068) comprises an annular lip (3070) formed at a distal end portion of the proximal bore (3068) and configured to provide an abutment for a distal end of the delivery sheath (106), wherein rotation of the torque shaft (110) causes the sheath retaining ring (150) to move axially along the threads or grooves, thereby moving the delivery sheath (106) axially relative to the outer shaft (104) and torque shaft (110), wherein rotation of the torque shaft (110) in one direction causes the delivery sheath (106) to move over the prosthetic valve (10) so as to receive and retain the prosthetic valve (10) in a fully compressed state for insertion into a patient.
  2. 4
The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 3, wherein the delivery apparatus (100) further comprises a nose cone shaft (120) extending through the torque shaft (110) and the prosthetic valve (10), the nose cone shaft (120) comprising a nose cone (122) secured to a distal end of the nose cone shaft (120), the prosthetic valve (10) mounted around a portion of the nose cone shaft (120) adjacent the nose cone (122).
  3. 7
The assembly of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the delivery apparatus (100) further comprises a handle connected to a proximal end portion of the delivery apparatus (100), the handle comprising a motor configured to rotate the torque shaft (110).
  4. 8
A sterile packaging comprising the assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 7.
  5. 12
A method of loading a prosthetic valve (10) into a delivery apparatus (100), the method comprising the steps of:obtaining a sterile packaging according to any one of claims 8 to 11;and causing the delivery sheath (106) to move axially over the prosthetic valve (10), thereby compressing the prosthetic valve (10) from the partially compressed state within the storage tube assembly (3000) to the fully compressed state within the delivery sheath (106) for insertion into a patient.
