    A method, comprising:receiving (130), by a computing system (9260), video-viewing-activity data comprising a plurality of entries (1010-1170);for each entry of the plurality of entries: determining (140), by the computing system, a video-viewing type (1290) via which a video asset was displayed by a video-asset-viewing device, of a plurality of video-asset-viewing devices, corresponding to the entry, wherein the video-viewing type comprises display of the video asset via one or more of a linear source, a digital video recorder (DVR) source proximate to the video-asset-viewing device, or a video on demand (VOD) source remote from the video-asset-viewing device;generating (140), by the computing system, a plurality of records for the entry, the plurality of records collectively representing a segment comprising video content spanning from a position of the video asset at which the video-asset-viewing device began displaying the video asset to a position of the video asset at which the video-asset-viewing device stopped displaying the video asset, each record of the plurality of records corresponding to an interval of the video content, indicating the video-viewing type (1290), and indicating a video playback mode associated with the record, wherein the video playback mode comprises one or more of a speed or a direction of playback of the video asset, wherein the interval is a time interval or a frame interval;and aggregating (200), by the computing system, one or more of the plurality of records into a record set corresponding to the segment;and determining (210-250), by the computing system and based on a portion of the record set, a video-viewing-activity metric for the segment.

    The method of any of the previous claims, further comprising identifying, by the computing system, each record of the portion based on the record indicating a video-viewing type (1290) corresponding to the video-viewing-activity metric.

    The method of any of the previous claims, wherein determining the video-viewing-activity metric comprises determining a number of records in the portion.

    The method of any of the previous claims, wherein determining the video-viewing-activity metric comprises determining a number of records in the record set.

    The method of any of the previous claims, further comprising identifying, by the computing system, a subset of the portion corresponding to criteria of the video-viewing-activity metric.

    The method of any of claims 6, 7, or 8, wherein the criteria comprises a threshold audio level, and wherein identifying the subset comprises, for each record in the subset, determining that the record indicates that the video-asset-viewing device, corresponding to the entry for which the record was generated, produced audio associated with the video content at an audio level over the threshold audio level for the interval corresponding to the record.

    The method of any of claims 6, 7, 8, or 9, wherein determining the video-viewing-activity metric comprises determining a number of records in the subset.

    The method of any of the previous claims, wherein each record of the plurality of records comprises a value indicating a portion of the interval that the video-asset-viewing device displayed the video asset.
