14 claims: 6 independent, 8 dependent

  1. 1
An elastic material comprising a crosslinked network, the crosslinked network containing a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock constitutes from 15 wt.% to 35 wt.% of the copolymer and has a number average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 35,000 grams per mole;and wherein the elastic material is in the form of a film, a nonwoven web, or strands.
  2. 5
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the copolymer is hydrogenated.
  3. 6
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the copolymer constitutes 10 wt.% or more of the elastic material.
  4. 7
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the copolymer constitutes 50 wt.% or more of the elastic material.
  5. 8
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the elastic material includes a film.
  6. 9
A method for forming an elastic material, the method comprising:melt extruding a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock constitutes from 15 wt.% to 35 wt.% of the copolymer;and has a number average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 35,000 grams per mole;forming a precursor elastic material from the melt extruded copolymer;and thereafter, crosslinking the linear block copolymer;and wherein the elastic material is in the form of a film, a nonwoven web, or strands.
  7. 13
The method of any of claims 9 to 12, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock includes styrene or a derivative thereof and the conjugated diene endblocks include butadiene, isoprene, or a mixture thereof.
  8. 14
The method of any of claims 9 to 13, wherein the copolymer is a triblock copolymer in which the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock includes styrene or a derivative thereof and the conjugated diene endblocks include butadiene, isoprene, or a derivative thereof.
