  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2009050610 A2 WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:1. An elastic material comprising a crosslinked network, the crosslinked network containing a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock constitutes from about 1 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of the copolymer.
  2. 4
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock includes styrene or a styrene derivative and the conjugated diene endblocks include butadiene, isoprene, or a mixture thereof.
  3. 8
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the copolymer is hydrogenated.
  4. 9
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the copolymer constitutes about 10 wt.% or more of the elastic material, and preferably about 50 wt.% or more of the elastic material.
  5. 10
The elastic material of any of the foregoing claims, wherein the elastic material includes a film.
  6. 11
A method for forming an elastic material, the method comprising:melt extruding a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock constitutes from about 1 wt.% to about 40 wt.% of the copolymer;forming a precursor elastic material from the melt extruded copolymer;and thereafter, crosslinking the linear block copolymer.
  7. 16
The method of any of claims 13 to 15, wherein the dosage of the electromagnetic radiation is from about 1 to about 30 Megarads, and preferably from about 5 to about 15 Megarads.
  8. 17
The method of any of claims 13 to 16, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock constitutes from about 15 wt.% to about 35 wt.% of the copolymer.
  9. 18
The method of any of claims 13 to 17, wherein the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock includes styrene or a derivative thereof and the conjugated diene endblocks include butadiene, isoprene, or a mixture thereof.
  10. 19
The method of any of claims 13 to 18, wherein the copolymer is a triblock copolymer in which the monoalkenyl aromatic midblock includes styrene or a derivative thereof and the conjugated diene endblocks include butadiene, isoprene, or a derivative thereof.
