13 claims: 12 independent, 1 dependent

  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2007097873 A1 CLAIMS:1. A system comprising: a programmer comprising: a user interface that displays at least one view of a representation of an implantable lead having a complex electrode array geometry, and receives user input defining at least one stimulation field on the representation of the lead;a memory that stores a plurality of volumetric stimulation templates;and a processor that selects at least one of the plurality of stimulation templates based on the at least one user-defined stimulation field, and selects an electrical stimulation parameter set associated with the selected volumetric stimulation template in the memory.
  2. 2
The system of claim I , further comprising a medical device, wherein the processor controls the medical device to deliver electrical stimulation therapy to the patient according to the selected electrical stimulation parameter set.
  3. 4
The system of any of claims 1 to 3, wherein the processor selects the volumetric stimulation template based on a determination that the template fills at least a portion of the stimulation field without covering any portion of the anatomical region not included in the stimulation field.
  4. 5
The system of any of claims.1 to 4, wherein the processor selects the one or more volumetric stimulation templates based on a determination that the templates fill at least the entire stimulation field'.
  5. 6
The system of any of claims 1 to 5, wherein the user interface presents a side view and a cross-sectional view of the representation of the lead.
  6. 7
The system of any of claims.1 to 6, wherein the user interface presents a side view of and a concentric axial view of the representation of the lead.
  7. 8
The system of any of claims 1 to 7, wherein the user interface presents an unwrapped two-dimensional array view of the representation of the lead.
  8. 9
The system of any of claims 1 to 8, wherein the user interface receives a drawing of the stimulation field on the representation of the lead.
  9. 10
The system of any of claims 1 to 9, wherein the user interface presents a representation of the stimulation field on the representation of the lead, and receives user input modifying the representation of the stimulation field.
  10. 11
The system of any of claims.1 to 10, wherein the processor adjusts the at least one of the plurality of volumetric stimulation templates based on the stimulation field.
  11. 12
The system of any of claims 1 to 11, wherein the user interface comprises at least one of a touchscreen and a pointing device.
  12. 13
The system of any of claims 1 to 12, wherein the programmer comprises at least one of a patient programmer or a clinician programmer.
