  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2007075375 A2 CLAIMS That which is claimed is:1. A device for stabilizing at least one spinal motion segment comprising a first vertebra having a first spinous process and a second vertebra having a second spinous process, wherein an interspinous space is defined therebetween, the device comprising: a body sized and shaped for positioning within the interspinous space;and at least one extension member movably attached to the body, wherein the at least one extension member can be moved from an undeployed position to a deployed position wherein the device has a first profile when the at least one extension member is in the undeployed position and a second profile when the at least one extension member is in the deployed position, wherein the second profile is greater than the first profile.
  2. 105
A method for treating at least one spinal motion segment comprising a first vertebra having a first spinous process and a second vertebra having a second spinous process and an interspinous space defined between the first and second spinous processes, the method comprising:introducing a device within the interspinous space;adjusting at least one of the shape and size of the device;using the device to statically stabilize the first and second spinous processes relative to each other;and subsequently using the device to dynamically stabilize the first and second spinous processes relative to each other.
  3. 109
A method for treating at least one spinal motion segment comprising a first vertebra having a first spinous process and a second vertebra having a second spinous process and an interspinous space defined between the first and second spinous processes, the method comprising:introducing a device within the interspinous space;adjusting at least one of the shape and size of the device;using the device to dynamically stabilize the first and second spinous processes relative to each other;and subsequently using the device to statically stabilize the first and second spinous processes relative to each other.
