Architectural concrete comprising photocatalyst particles

Abstract

A hydraulic binder, dry premixes and cement compositions, having improved property to maintain unaltered, brilliance and colouring quantity for a longer time period, characterized in that they contain, in bulk, particles of a photocatalyst able to oxidize in the presence of light, oxygen and water the polluting substances present in the environment.

11 claims: 2 independent, 9 dependent

  1. 1
Cement composition, containing in bulk photocatalyst particles able to oxidize polluting substances in the presence of light, air, and environmental humidity, said composition comprising water, coarse or fine aggregates, a hydraulic binder and photocatalyst particles, when the photocatalyst particles are particles of titanium dioxide, at least 5% by weight of said particles of titanium dioxide have the anatase structure, said photocatalyst particles present in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 10.0% by weight with respect to the hydraulic binder.
  2. 11
Dry premix containing in bulk photocatalyst particles able to oxidize polluting substances in the presence of light, air, and environmental humidity, said premix comprising, coarse or fine aggregates, a hydraulic binder and photocatalyst particles selected from the group consisting of tungstic oxide (WO3), strontium titanate (SrTiO3), calcium titanate and titanium dioxide (TiO2), or a precursor thereof, when the photocatalyst particles are particles of titanium dioxide, at least 5% by weight of said particles of titanium dioxide have the anatase structure, said photocatalyst particles being present in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 10% by weight with respect to the hydraulic binder.
