  1. 1
A system for routing telephone calls to individual ones of a plurality of telephony switches (168,182) located within a plurality of call centers (162, 180), said system comprising:a plurality of CTI servers (170, 184) with each CTI server matched to one of the plurality of telephony switches (168, 182);a plurality of agent places (1-3) including destination numbers (111, 112);a network level stat-server (190) adapted to communicate with all of the CTI servers (170, 184), the stat-server (190) storing status information related to all of the telephony switches (168, 182) and information relating to calls to said call centers and information relating to agents in said call centers, and the network level stat-server (190) is adapted to track agent locations as agents move between agent places (1-3) by associating destination numbers (111, 112) with the agents (1-2);a network level router (192) for routing incoming calls to individual ones of the telephony switches (168, 182) using the stored status information and said information relating to said telephone calls and agents in said call centers to select an agent based on said information using predetermined criteria;wherein each of the CTI servers (170, 184) is adapted to continuously report the status of the connected telephony switch (168, 182) to the network level stat-server (190) on a per-transaction basis and the network level router (192) is adapted to cause calls to be routed to destination numbers (111, 112) associated with the selected agents (1-2).
  2. 4
A method for routing a telephone call to one of a plurality of call centers (162, 180) each having at least one telephony switch (168, 182) connected to a CTI server (170, 184), the CTI server (170, 184) for each switch interacting with a network level stat-server (190) connected to a network-level router (192); the stat-server storing status information related to all of the telephony switches (168, 182) and information relating to calls to said call centers and information relating to agents including a plurality of agent places (1-3) having destination numbers (111, 112) in said call centers, the method comprising steps of:notifying the network level stat-server (190) via the CTI servers (170, 184) connected to each of the telephony switches (168, 182) of all transactions of the connected telephony switches (168, 182) on a transaction-by-transaction basis;tracking agent locations by the network level stat-server (190) as agents move between agent places (1-3) by associating the destination number (111, 112) with the agents (1-2);receiving a call at the network level to be routed by the network-level router (192);selecting, by said router (192), based on information from said stat-server (190), a telephony switch (168, 182) at a call center (162, 180) for routing the call, wherein an agent in one of said call centers is selected based on said stored status information and said information relating to said telephone calls and agents in said call centers using predetermined criteria;and routing the call to destination numbers (111, 112) associated with the selected agents (1-2).
