p0001The present invention relates to the transfer of registered information on public Euro-ISDN network (DSS1 protocol).
p0002The Euro-ISDN protocol is a Europe-wide standardization of national ISDN variants in a standard. The main difference from the "German" ISDN is that has been used in Germany as 1TR6 signaling protocol. With Euro-ISDN, however, the so-called DSS1 protocol for signaling between subscriber premises to be used. The DSS 1 (Digital Subscriber Signaling System No. 1) is a system based on ITUI.411 signaling protocol for the D channel of the Euro-ISDN.
p0003The D channel is generally the signaling channel in the ISDN protocol. In D-channel digital information streams are transmitted in a frame-oriented HDLC protocol. is done via the D-channel packet-oriented connection establishment, the connection is released and the communication controller. The D-channel is thus a prerequisite for service integration and mixing Communications in the ISDN. About the D-channel in addition, a packet-switched data transmission are carried out, which is exploited in some communication products for user communication. be it via the D channel called news (messages) exchanged.
p0004In the present invention, in particular the possibilities of the D-channel to be used in a new way.
p0005In Euro-ISDN protocol DSS1 the performance CNIP (Called Name Identification Presentation), CNIR and CONP are (Connected Name Identification Presentation), ie the transport of participants names via the public network, not possible.
p0006The transfer of registered information of the communication partner (as additional information for the phone number) is, however, in today's PBX ( "Private Branch Exchange", PABXs) applications central component of signaling. Since the public Euro-ISDN (DSS1) protocol, there is no possibility of signaling name, so name information can not be supported at a cooperation of a PBX to the public DSS1 network.
p0007According to the prior art, the name can only be transmitted or displayed when the call from a subscriber within the same private telephone system (ie not via the public network) comes. Calling on the public ISDN network, only the caller's phone number can be transferred.
p0008The ETSI standard ETS 300 238 (June 1993) discloses a method for transmitting information about the name a private telecommunications network, mentioned in Section 7.5 the transfer of name information on public ISDN networks, but this is not detailed further.
p0009It is therefore an object of the present invention, a method of transferring information on behalf of the public Euro-ISDN DSS1 network to provide.
p0010According to the invention the object is achieved by the independent claims, the dependent claims develop the central idea of the invention in a particularly advantageous way on.
p0011According to the invention thus provides a process for transmitting information relating to the names of subscribers is provided, which are assigned a transmitting system or a receiving system. The transfer from the sending system to the receiving system is carried out via a public network in accordance with the Euro-ISDN (DSS1) protocol.
p0012According to the invention, the information concerning the names of participants in the transmission in an information element is transmitted SUBADDRESS a message of Euro-ISDN protocol, wherein in the information element SUBADDRESS continue an identifier is inserted, which indicates that transfer a subscriber name information in this information element becomes. the identifier thus differs name information from a real Subaddressierung, for the SUBADDRESS information element is actually provided.
p0013The inclusion of information concerning the names of participants in the transmission in the SUBADDRESS information element of the Euro-ISDN protocol can preferably take place only if a voice transmission is executed. For data transmissions namely SUBADDRESS information element is optionally already differently, ie in the sense of an actual Subaddressierung, occupied and therefore are no longer name information transmission.
p0014As an information element for transmitting the subscriber name information can be the ISDN message CONNECT used in the case of the receiving system, in particular the CALLING PARTY SUBADDRESS the ISDN SETUP message in the case of the sending system and the CONNECTED PARTY SUBADDRESS.
p0015Prior to the transfer of the subscriber name information can be checked against a table, if a participant who is present at the sending or the receiving system, a name is assigned.
p0016In the event that the subscriber is assigned a name that can be verified using the table continues, whether the transmission of the subscriber name information is enabled or disabled.
p0017Furthermore, can be checked before transferring the subscriber name information whether the corresponding SUBADDRESS information element is free or already occupied, to prevent the transmission of the subscriber name information in the information element SUBADDRESS with an actual sub-addressing or the like collides.
p0018In the event that the subscriber name information exceeds a predetermined length, the subscriber name information can be reduced accordingly and continue a shortcut information be included in the information element SUBADDRESS and transmitted, the shortcut information indicating that the transmitted subscriber name information was shortened.
p0019According to the invention, a telephone system is also provided by the Euro-ISDN (DSS1) protocol. This telephone system comprises a sending system and a receiving system, which are interconnected via a public network, wherein the sending system and the receiving system, respectively names of subscribers can be assigned.
p0020According to the invention, the sending system and the receiving system is designed so that the information concerning the names of participants in the transmission in an information element is transferable SUBADDRESS a message of Euro-ISDN protocol, wherein in the information element SUBADDRESS continue an identifier is inserted , indicating that in this information element SUBADDRESS a subscriber name information is transmitted.
p0021The inclusion of information concerning the names of participants in the transmission in the SUBADDRESS information element of the Euro-ISDN protocol is carried out only if the sending system and the receiving system determines that a voice transmission is to be executed in accordance with the Euro-ISDN protocol.
p0022The information element for transmitting the subscriber name information may be the ISDN SETUP message in the case of the sending system and the CONNECTED PARTY SUBADDRESS the ISDN CONNECT message in the case of the receiving system, the CALLING PARTY SUBADDRESS.
p0023In the sending system and the receiving system can insert a table be provided is checked against the front of the transmission of the subscriber name information, whether a participant is assigned a name.
p0024In the event that a subscriber is assigned a name that can be further verified using the table, whether the transfer of the subscriber name information released or locked.
p0025Prior to the transfer of the subscriber name information, the sending system and the receiving system to check whether the corresponding SUBADDRESS information element is free or already occupied.
p0026In the event that the subscriber name information exceeds a predetermined length, the subscriber name information can be reduced accordingly and continue an abbreviation information be included in the information element SUBADDRESS and transmitted, where the abbreviation information indicates that the transmitted subscriber name information has been truncated.
p0027The invention will now be described in more detail using an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
p0028Show it: <dl id="dl0001"><dt>figure 1</dt><dd>a schematic representation of the transmission of information between two names PBX (private branch exchanges) systems via the public network in accordance with the Euro-ISDN (DSS1) protocol,</dd><dt>figure 2</dt><dd>an internal format of the transfer of the registered information in a PBX system,</dd><dt>figure 3</dt><dd>a sub-address of a message (Message) in accordance with the DSS1 protocol, and</dd><dt>figure 4</dt><dd>a schematic representation of a known ISDN transmission system.</dd></dl>
p0029First is to FIG. 4 generally to a ISDN system will be described by reference. With reference numeral 1 while a transmitting system is called. This sending system 1 can user information, such as languages or information, transmitted via an ISDN connection 3 to a receiving system 2 via the so-called B-channel.
p0030As mentioned above, one D channel is also provided for signaling communications between the sending system and the receiving system 1 second
p0031According to the present invention, a signaling of the name information is carried in the information element SUBADDRESS a message (Message) of the D-channel of the DSS1 protocol. This information element is used, additional address information transparent - ie without evaluating - on public DSS1 network between the participating communication partner (sending system 1 and receiving system 2) to signal. The SUBADDRESS element is signaled together with the numbers in the appropriate ISDN messages.
p0032For voice calls, the information element SUBADDRESS is not normally used. The name information can thus be copied to the SUBADDRESS information element. The Informazionselement SUBADDRESS can obtain an identifier, on the one hand does not violate the applicable standard and on the other hand makes the transfer of registered information of a real subaddress distinguishable.
p0033It must be remembered that at the time of the usable length of the information element SUBADDRESS is set to 20 bytes.
p0034Thus, by transporting the subscriber's name in the public network thus also between two PBX (private branch exchanges) systems using the information element SUBADDRESS as support the CNIP (Called Name Identification Presentation) or CONP (Connected Name Identification Presentation) can be realized. In other words, a subscriber name, which is a respective one of a sending and a receiving system assigned to be transmitted to the other system, where they are displayed, for example, in a display.
p0035Within a PBX system accepts the so-called DH (device handler) -ISDN the task at DSS1 connections via the public network (channel S0 and S2M) To transfer the name used internally in a PBX system within the DSS1 subaddress. This is however only possible if the voice connections SUBADDRESS information element is not used elsewhere. Another limitation is the maximum length of the information element SUBADDRESS of 20 byte payload. Under certain circumstances, therefore, the maximum length of the name used internally in the PBX of 26 bytes must be shortened.
p0036Referring to FIG. 1 will now display the transfer of names between two PBX systems over a public network 3.
p0037In Fig. 1, a transmitting system 1 and a receiving system 2 is shown, which can communicate with each other via an external line 7 of the public Euro-ISDN (DSS1) network. 3 The sending system 1 has an LM-Manager (Feature Manager). 5 The receiving system 2 includes a LM manager 6th
p0038In a DSS1 connection via the public network 3 of the LM manager 5 reads the sending PBX system 1 from a ZST message (Central Control Message) the payload of a FAC-IE (Facility Information Element) surgery NAME (NA) the sending PBX system 1 and transmits this user data in the information element SUBADDRESS (SUB) a message (message) in accordance with the DSS1 protocol. In this form, the name information of the sending system 1 associated subscriber via the public Euro-ISDN network 3 can be transported by means of the outside line. 7 The LM manager 6 of the receiving PBX system 2 recognizes the SUBADDRESS information element of the message as a bearer of a name information and accepts this name information back into a FAC-IE (facility information element) with surgery NAME.
p0039External interfaces are the interface between the ZST (central controller) and the DH-ISDN (Device Handler ISDN) on one side 5 and 6 and on the other side, the ISDN trunk line 7 with the DSS1 protocol.
p0040can be contained by the receiving system 2 from between the ZST and the DH-ISDN 5 or 6 messages a FAC-IE with the name of the calling party (Calling Party Name) or the responding node (Connected Party Name).
p0041An operation in the FAC-IE for transferring name is (DSS1) protocol provided in the Euro-ISDN only for the so-called Q-reference point (leased lines). Therefore, names can be transmitted in the DSS1 trunks 7 according to the prior art does not. The information element for the Calling Party Subaddress of the SETUP message or the Connected Party Subaddress of the CONNECT message, however, offer some liberties with respect to the labeling and coding of sub-address so that the information element Calling party subaddress or Connected Party Subaddress of the present invention as carriers of can be the name used. This is possible if the information element Calling party subaddress or Connected party subaddress does not already contain a real Subaddress in terms of sub-addressing in the network.
p0042Referring to FIG. 2 is now to be explained in a PBX (private branch exchanges) system, the internal format of the name information.
p0043The FAC-IE (Facility Information Element) Calling Party Name or Connected party name has, for example, in the system A6 (as an example of a PBX system) a fixed length of (ANZ_CHAR + 2), wherein ANZ_CHAR a constant, for example, 26 bytes ZST (Central control) and PST (peripheral controller) for the number internally communicable characters. "Number of characters" in Fig. 2 therefore indicates the number of the existing name sign.
p0044The element "Pres.Ind." (Presentation Indicator) indicates whether the name may not be displayed or or if he is unavailable. The following codes are used:<ul><li>00 = Presentation allowed (name display enabled)</li><li>01 = Presentation restricted (name display suppressed)</li><li>10 = Name not available (name not available).</li></ul>
p0045As shown in FIG. 1 may be stored in a table 4, the mapping of name information of a subscriber to a transmitting system 1 and the receiving system 2 and the encodings mentioned above, the LM manager 5 of the sending system 1 or the LM associated Manager 6 of the sending system. 2
p0046Referring to FIG. 3, the construction of an information element SUBADDRESS accordance with the DSS1 protocol will be described.
p0047The information element identifier identifies the type of information element, the two interest with regard to the present invention as follows types are coded:<ul><li>01101101 = Calling Party Subaddress (Subaddressing the sending system 1f)</li><li>01001101 = Connected Party Subaddress (Subaddressing the receiving system 2).</li></ul>
p0048The type of subaddress is encoded as so-called NSAP, this three bits of type must be assigned to the 000th The odd / even indicator of Fig. 3 (o / e) is considered only in BCD encoding of address. In the case of NSAP encoding byte contains 4 an AFI (Authority and Format Identifier), which specifies the character set of the information element SUBADDRESS. The range 00-09 (hex) is reserved for internal use and is used in the course of the present invention as an identifier for the transport of the name in the SUBADDRESS information element.
p0049Basically, all messages are the LM manager 5 or 6 handed. It can receive messages from the ZST to the DSS1 exchange line 7 name information in FAC-IE with the OPC (operation code) Calling Party Name included. News of the DSS1 exchange line 7 to the ZST may now contain this name information in the information element SUBADDRESS the message SETUP or CONNECT if the information element Calling party subaddress or Connected party subaddress is used as a carrier therefor.
p0050With existing OPC (operation code) Calling Party Name or Connected Party Name in FAC-IE (facility information element) in the context of the LM manager 5 or 6 calls the functions for entering the name information in the information element SUBADDRESS. Depending on the OPC (operation code) one of the functions described below is therefore used.
p0051First entering a FAC-IE is (Facility Information Element) "Calling Party Name" in the information element are "Calling Party Subaddress" explained.
p0052This function is called on the table entry OPC (operation code) "Calling Party Name". It is first checked whether the message is a message SETUP, as with any other message no information element Calling party subaddress can be entered. Furthermore, the interface functionality and operation of the system is queried. A transfer of the registered information in this way is carried out only in Euro-ISDN lines 7 with the DSS1 protocol, however, in all other cases, the processing is terminated.
p0053The FAC-IE is on the Presentation Indicator (see Fig. 2) been checked to see if the name information may not be displayed or or whether it is at all available. If should be the entry of the Presentation Indicator "Name not available", no transfer of the registered information in the information element SUBADDRESS is made. The same applies if the entry "Presentation restricted" (name information suppression) is present.
p0054The SUBADDRESS information element can be used only as a carrier of the name information when the information element Calling party subaddress is used not for a real Subaddressing. For this reason, a user is asked if the information element Calling party subaddress already exists or is. but in voice connections this information element in the rule is not yet occupied.
p0055The character set of name information is not transmitted in the information element SUBADDRESS, the ISO-8859-1, it is rather assumed.
p0056The name information (not shown) in a buffer cached for entering into an information element Calling party subaddress). Here, the name information are taken up to a maximum 19 bytes. It has already been pointed out that the maximum length of the assignable information in a SUBADDRESS information element is 20 bytes. However, since the names of the OPC information (Calling Party Name) in the FAC-IE can be up to 26 bytes long, is in the odd / even indicator (see Fig. 3) of the information element SUBADDRESS a bit is set, if the name is truncated. When encoding NSAP is used, wherein 0x09 registered as AFI. In this coding, the Odd / Even Indicator (o / e in Fig. 3) of the information element SUBADDRESS, which is only in BCD encoding of meaning, no other function. Finally, the information element Calling party subaddress is added to the message through the Message dealer.
p0057To enter a name information of a FAC-IE "Connected Party Name" in an information element "Connected Party Subaddress" starting from the receiving system 2, this function is called from the table entry of the FAC-IE "Connected Party Name" first. It is this first checks whether the message is a message Connect, as with any other message no information element Connected party subaddress can be entered. The further procedure is analogous to the explanation regarding the registration of the FAC-IE calling party name in an information element Calling party subaddress.
p0058Now, the reading out of the information element subaddress shall be explained.
p0059After editing the FAC-IE a message and the active features single specific message types from the LM manager 5 or 6 still be considered. The messages SETUP and CONNECT is checks if the information element SUBADDRESS contains name information, the name can then be entered into a FAC-IE Calling Party Name or Connected Party. Accordingly, two functions for analysis and registration are required.
p0060First, the reading of the information element Calling party subaddress and the entries of the resulting information into a FAC-IE Calling Party Name is intended to be explained.
p0061This function checks whether an information element Calling party subaddress is present in the SETUP message. It can be both a real name of the calling party information from the transmitting system 1 ago, as. Well as a true sub-addressing in the strict sense
p0062If the message with Type NSAP and the AFE encoded with 0x09, is at the SUBADDRESS information element actually the name of the calling party information from the transmitting system 1 ago. Should this not be the case that in this case real Subaddressing is not changed and will not run the rest of the sequence.
p0063If there has been a name information in an array for registration in the FAC-IE calling party name this name information is cached. The Presentation Indicator (s. Fig. 2) (Released Display) on "Presentation allowed" set, since only such names information is transmitted in the information element SUBADDRESS (s. Above). The character set is automatically set to ISO-8859-1, because this character set is commonly used for name information for example in A6 systems.
p0064About the Odd / Even Indicator (s. "O / e" in Fig. 3) it is recognized that the name information for transmission of was shortened in the SUBADDRESS information element in accordance with the DSS1 protocol, so that in this case, a point behind the name information is set and will thus appear.
p0065The MH is now the FAC-IE is now entered the FAC-IE calling party name in the message and the information element Calling party subaddress is removed from the message.
p0066Now, the reading of the information element Connected Party Subaddress and entering the information obtained therefrom in the FAC-IE Connected Party Name of the sending system 1 will be explained. This function checks whether an information element Connected party subaddress is present in the message CONNECT. This can be also a real information of the calling party, acting in this case, the receiving system 2, as well as a true sub-addressing. The further procedure runs however analogous to the above with respect to the reading of the information element Calling party subaddress said.
