By pressing a redial key (WWT), one of the stored telephone numbers of the chronological or index-controlled redial memory (WWS) must be selected. It is selected after a selection period has expired. It is programmable determinations on the basis of certain input procedures a targeted influence on or depending on the already stored in the redial memory phone numbers feasible. This influence consists, for example, in the updating of the display sequence, in additions, corrections and in completing and overwriting the stored telephone numbers. This is possible by simple procedures, resulting in an increase of the user comfort. For the chronological classification of a telephone number, the most recent time of the election broadcast is evaluated.
