6 claims: 6 independent, 0 dependent

  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 9746040 A2 1. A local point distribution service capable of mitigating the effects of environmental and atmospheric fading, having a first cell-site with a transmitter for transmitting a signal of a first frequency, said first cell-site having a first radius, and a second cell-site adjacent said first cell-site, said second cell-site having a transmitter for transmitting a signal of a second frequency, said second cell-site having a second radius, characterized in that:said first radius and said second radius are chosen so that camer-to-interference ratios of preselected levels which substantially avoid co-channel interference due to frequency reuse is achieved.
  2. 2
An local multi-point distribution service, as recited m claim 1, further characterized in that a third cell-site is located adjacent said second cell-site, said third site having a transmitter for transmitting a signal of said first frequency, said third cell-site having a third radius chosen so that a carπer-to-interference ratio of a preselected level which avoids co-channel interference due to frequency reuse is achieved.
  3. 3
A local-multi-point distribution service as recited in any of the preceding claims, further characterized in that directive antennas are used to transmit said signals.
  4. 4
A local-multi-point distribution service as recited in any of the preceding claims, further characterized in that comprising polarization diversity of said signals so as to substantially avoid co-channel and adjacent channel interference.
  5. 5
A local-multi-point distribution service as recited in any of the preceding claims, further characterized in that power control at a subscriber site is used to reduce interference.
  6. 6
A local-multi-pomt distribution service as recited in any of the preceding claims, further characterized in that a fourth cell-site is located
