Technical area
The invention relates to a packaging element consisting of a carrier material which is provided on the side facing away from the packaged goods with a layer having a printing image and with a coating on the side facing the packaged material.
State of the art
Packaging elements of the type mentioned at the outset are used, for example, as sinkers for yogurt containers or as bottle neck labels. To mark the goods, imprints are placed on the packaging elements on the side facing away from the packaged goods. It is also known to apply a coating in the form of a heat seal lacquer on the side facing the package material, for example during the production of yogurt boards. By virtue of this heat-seal lacquer, an air-tight but simultaneously peelable connection is formed between the yogurt cup and the plate.
For the production of these packaging elements, the carrier material, for example aluminum, is used in the form of rollware, which is continuously provided with a heat seal lacquer layer on the side facing the package material and with a layer having a print image on the side facing away from the package material. In order to now adapt the packaging elements to the shape of the packaged material, correspondingly shaped punching tools are used. After the punching process, a stack of packaging elements, such as yoghurt boards, now fall. Since these surfaces have a smooth surface on both sides, problems arise during de-stacking. The yogurt boards stick together so strongly that two or more boards are partly unstackled.
In order to eliminate this undesirable effect, the printed film composite before the stamping process has been subjected to a preliminary step. As a result, surface-stable films are produced, which are easily unstacked, since adhesion of the films to one another is prevented by the enclosed air between the embossed webs. However, the embossing process has the disadvantage that the printed image is distorted or even destroyed.
It is an object of the invention to avoid this known drawback and, at the same time, to provide easily handleable beaker plates.
According to EP-A2-089 746, the plastic material for the production of toothpaste tubes is fed directly after its manufacture to a cooling roll which has the function of a pre-roll. Due to the achieved embossing on the plastic material surface, the subsequent de-stacking of the pack material blanks is substantially facilitated.
Instead of embossing, surface roughness can also be achieved by the addition of antiblocking agents (see R. GÄCHTER and H. MÜLLER, Taschenbuch der Kunststoff-Additive, 2nd edition, Carlhauser Verlag, Munich - Vienna, 1983, p. 346).
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a beaker board (1) consisting of a carrier material (5) which has a surface (2) facing away from the package material with a layer (4) having a print image, and a surface surface on the side (3) facing the package material Characterized in that the surface - rough coating is in the form of a surface - rough print in the form of geometrically arranged spacers (8, 10), which is additionally sealable on the side facing the package material, and additionally. (DE) Granular fillers.
Geometrically arranged spacers can also be provided on the side facing away from the package material; They advantageously have a height of 1 to 100 μm, preferably 4 to 15 μm.
The carrier material of the packaging element according to the invention is advantageously made of aluminum, paper and plastic, the plastic preferably being based on polypropylene, polyethylene, polyamide or polyethylene terephthalate. In addition, it is advantageously possible to use film composites comprising the following material combination from the package material: aluminum / aluminum, aluminum / plastic, plastic / aluminum, plastic / plastic, aluminum / paper, paper / aluminum, paper / paper.
The beaker board according to the invention can have a further sealable coating between the carrier material and the surface-roughened, sealable coating, the surface roughness of which is equal to 0 or almost equal to zero.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS in conjunction with an advantageous way of carrying out the invention
The invention is now explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, in which FIGS. 2 and 3 illustrate the invention, and FIG. 1 is intended to represent a comparative example which is close to the state of the art.
These now show the packaging element 1 which essentially consists of the carrier material 5 on which a layer 4 having a print image is provided on the side 2 facing away from the package material. The surface-rough coating 6 is provided on the side 3 facing the packaged material.
The layer thicknesses for the layer 4 comprising the printed image are at most 30 μm and for the surface-rough coating 6, which is located on the side facing the package material, a maximum of 120 μm.
The layer thickness of the carrier material 5 is 5-200 μm; In the case of aluminum as carrier material, the layer thickness is in the range from 10 to 70 μm, for paper in the range from 20 to 150 μm, for plastics in the range from 7 to 150 μm.
If the beaker board according to the invention is used as a cover element for yogurt containers, the carrier material advantageously consists of aluminum with a tensile strength of 60-250 N / mm2.
The layer 4 comprising the print image is produced in such a way that a printing pre-lacquer (not shown) is applied to the carrier material 5 in a manner known per se in order to ensure the sufficient adhesion between the pressure and the carrier material. A printed image is then produced on the carrier material coated with the printing pre-lacquer, for example, by gravure printing or flexographic printing. In order to protect the printed image, this is subsequently provided with a lubricating overcoat.
The carrier material 5 is now provided with the surface-rough coating 6 on the side facing the package material.
According to FIG. 1, the surface roughness of the coating 6 is produced by using granular fillers 7. Since these granular fillers are deposited, inter alia, on the side 3 facing the packaged material, a surface roughness of at least 1 μm is produced. Also, due to these relatively low values in terms of surface roughness, the de-stacking process can be facilitated with the method described initially.
The packaging element 1 according to the invention shown in FIG. 2 has a surface-rough coating 6 on the side 3 facing the packaged material, which has a coating 9 with a surface roughness of 0 or almost equal to 0. A further coating is applied to this coating by means of a correspondingly shaped pressure roller, so that the spacers 8 are formed in a geometric arrangement on the surface side 3 facing the packaged material. In this case, the pressure roller surface has, for example, depressions which correspond to the geometrical arrangement as well as the shape of the spacers. The coating, which is used to produce the spacers 8, additionally contains granular fillers.
FIG. 3 also shows a surface-rough coating 6 which has the spacers 10 in a geometrical arrangement. This packing element according to FIG. 3 can be produced in a method which is particularly easy to carry out since a coating is applied directly to the carrier material 5 with the aid of a correspondingly shaped pressure roller so that the spacers 10 are produced.
The printing roller is shaped in such a way that coating thicknesses of 1 to 30 μm and geometrically arranged locations are possible by means of corresponding depressions in the printing roller surface, coating thicknesses of 4-100 μm.
Commercial applicability
The packaging element according to the invention is particularly suitable as a cover element for yogurt containers. In this application, it is necessary to provide the surface-rough coating in the form of a sealable layer so that an air-tight, but at the same time peelable, connection between the lid and the yogurt beaker is formed.
