  1. 1
An article comprising a substrate surface with water- and oil-repellency, of which is coated with a mixture of a silane containing fluorocarbon group and chlorosilane group and a crosslinking agent comprising Si or a mixture of a silane containing fluorocarbon group and alkoxysilane group and a crosslinking agent comprising Si, wherein the substrate is selected from the group consisting of glass, ceramic, metal, plastic and those covered with inorganic coating films.
  2. 4
An article according to any one of claims 1-3, wherein the inorganic coating film is a glassy silica film.
  3. 5
An article according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the glassy silica film is formed by applying silicate glass to the surface of the glass substrate and then by heating or treating the surface through plasma ashing.
  4. 6
An article according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein the outermost surface of the substrate has irregularities of submicron or micron order.
  5. 7
An article according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein the substrate surface is covered with a layer containing fluorocarbon group and siloxane group formed from the mixture of a completely hydrolyzable silane and a perfluoroalkyl alkyl silane through dehydrochlorination reaction or dealcoholization reaction.
  6. 8
An article according to any one of claims 1-7,    wherein the crosslinking agent is selected from the group consisting of SiP s Cl 4-s , where P represents H, a lower-alkyl group and a lower-alkoxyl group, Cl(SiCl 2 O) n - (n is 0 or an integer), and s represents 0, 1 or 2, (especially, when s is 0 or s is 1 or 2 and P is H or Cl, the silane is completely hydrolyzable silane), and SiY t (OA) 4-t , where Y is at least one substituent group selected from the group consisting of a lower-alkyl group and a lower-alkoxyl group, A represents hydrogen atom or a lower-alkyl group, and t represents 0,1, or 2, (especially, when t is 0, the silane is completely hydrolyzable silane).
  7. 10
A method for manufacturing a substrate surface with water- and oil- repellency, comprising:contacting a substrate surface with a mixture of a silane containing fluorocarbon group and chlorosilane group and a crosslinking agent comprising Si or a mixture of a silane containing fluorocarbon group and alkoxysilane group and a crosslinking agent comprising Si, wherein the substrate is selected from the group consisting of glass, ceramic, metal, plastic and those covered with inorganic coating films.
  8. 13
A method according to any one of claims 10-12,    wherein the inorganic coating film is made from a glassy silica film.
  9. 14
A method according to any one of claims 1-4,    wherein the glassy silica film is formed by applying silicate glass to the surface of the glass substrate and then by heating or treating the surface through plasma ashing.
  10. 15
A method according to claims 10-14,    wherein the outermost surface of the substrate is roughened at submicron or micron order.
  11. 16
A method according to any one of claims 10-15,    wherein the substrate surface is contacted with the mixture of a completely hydrolyzable silane and a perfluoroalkyl alkyl silane and reacted through dehydrochlorination reaction or dealcoholization reaction.
  12. 17
A method according to any one of claims 10-16,    wherein the crosslinking agents selected from the group consisting of SiP s Cl 4-s , where P represents H, a lower-alkyl group and a lower-alkoxyl group, Cl(SiCl 2 O)n- (n is 0 or an integer), and s represents 0, 1 or 2, (especially, when s is 0 or s is 1 or 2 and P is H or Cl, the silane is completely hydrolyzable silane), and SiY t (OA) 4-t , where Y is at least one substituted group selected from the group consisting of a lower-alkyl group and a lower-alkoxyl group, A represents hydrogen atom or a lower-alkyl group, and t represents 0, 1, or 2 (especially, when t is 0, the silane is completely hydrolyzable silane) is used.
