Filter and apparatus using a filter

A filter particularly for use in the reservoir of a water cooling unit which comprises a body (20) which is adapted to be received in the reservoir (10) adajcent the top thereof, the filter having an inlet (26) which is adapted to receive the neck (27) of a water bottle or the like (30) and having filter medium or media through which water passing from the inlet (26) must pass before passing from the outlet (60) to the reservoir (10) and a breather tube (67) passing through the filter into the water bottle (30) and terminating above the level thereof. A water cooling unit is also included within the invention.
