Apparatus for the eddy current testing of the pipes in a heat exchanger

The insertion tip of a Worbelstromprüfsonde (1) is connected via elastic hose pieces (3a - 3m) with the interposition of several coils (4a - 4h) with a push hose (6). This push tube (6) can be inserted by means of a pusher into a tube to be tested of the bundle. The pressing surfaces (9) of the coils (4a-4h) each extend only over part of the inner circumference of the tube and the coils (4a-4h) are offset from one another at the circumference of the test probe (1) and in the probe longitudinal axis. In the test probe (1) a position detection unit (25) is arranged. With the device according to the invention, pipes can also be tested with narrow radii of curvature, with fault locations being localized by a length and angle indication.
