In a message transmission system with at least one central device and with a plurality of independent subscriber stations, a subscriber station expects, after sending an access request, an access authorization to be issued by the central device. The subscriber station repeats its request for access as soon as it determines that another subscriber station, which has sent its access request later, receives access authorization.
