Abstract
The embodiments generally relate to connectors used with straps (308) and backplane systems (300) in SCBA. The SCBA may include a back plate (306) for holding the air cylinders, and a strap with straps (310, 312) operable to attach to the back plate. The applicant has developed a backplane connector (340), which provides reliable quick connection and disconnection of the strap attached to the backplane. The connector can be installed in the slot (320) on the backplane. In some embodiments, multiple connectors may be used to connect multiple straps to the backplane. Additionally, the connector may include clips (603) or other attachments operable to fix one or more hoses (330) of the SCBA. This design can prevent the air hose from being accidentally hooked, and the attachment of the hose can help fix the connector to the groove of the back plate, thereby reducing the change of disconnection of the connector during normal use.
