    Claims 1. A leak detection assembly comprising:a leak detection sensor;a watertight housing enclosing the leak detection sensor and configured to isolate the leak detection sensor from any fluid exterior to the housing;a bracket comprising a bracket hole and configured to mount the leak detection sensor on an exterior surface of a component of a water infrastructure system by a first flange defined by the exterior surface, the component comprising a plurality of fasteners, the bracket secured to the component by at least one of the plurality of fasteners extending thru the first flange and the bracket hole, each fastener configured to connect to a second flange defined by the water infrastructure system;and a communications device configured to be mounted on the exterior surface of the component, the leak detection sensor connected to the communications device, the communications device including an antenna, wherein the communications device is a component of an infrastructure monitoring system.

    A leak detection system comprising:a first component and a second component of a water infrastructure system, each component comprising a flange and a plurality of fasteners configured to extend thru the flange;a first leak detection sensor and a second leak detection sensor;a first watertight housing enclosing the first leak detection sensor and configured to isolate the first leak detection sensor from any fluid exterior to the first watertight housing;a second watertight housing enclosing the second leak detection sensor and configured to isolate the second leak detection sensor from any fluid exterior to the second watertight housing;a first bracket mounting the first leak detection sensor on an exterior surface of the first component, the first bracket comprising a bracket hole and secured to the first component by at least one of the plurality of fasteners of the first component by extending thru the bracket hole and the flange of the first component;a second bracket mounting the second leak detection sensor on an exterior surface of the second component, the second bracket comprising a bracket hole and secured to the second component by at least one of CA 3023529 2018-11-08 the plurality of fasteners of the second component by extending thru the bracket hole and the flange of the second component;a first communications device positioned on the exterior surface of the first component and connected to the first leak detection sensor;and a second communications device positioned on the exterior surface of the second component and connected to the second leak detection sensor, each communications device comprising an antenna, wherein each communications device is a component of an infrastructure monitoring system.

    An infrastructure monitoring assembly comprising:a housing comprising an exterior wall and mountable on a fire hydrant of an infrastructure system, the housing configured to engage with threading of the fire hydrant, the exterior wall defining a hole;an antenna cover defining a cavity and comprising a material configured to allow signals to transmit therethrough;an antenna extending through the hole of the exterior wall of the housing and within the cavity of the antenna cover;a communications device connected to the antenna and positioned within the housing;and a sensor connected to the communications device and coupled to the housing, the sensor configured to sense at least one condition of a fluid within the infrastructure system, wherein the housing is further configured to isolate the sensor from any fluid exterior to the housing, wherein the housing comprises an enclosure, and wherein the housing is a nozzle cap.

    An infrastructure monitoring assembly comprising:a housing comprising internal components and an exterior wall and mountable on a fire hydrant of an infrastructure system, the exterior wall defining a hole, the housing configured to engage with threading of the fire hydrant, and isolate the internal components from any fluid exterior to the housing;an antenna cover defining a cavity and comprising a material configured to allow signals to transmit therethrough;an antenna extending through the hole of the exterior wall of the housing and within the cavity of the antenna cover;and a monitoring device coupled to the housing, the monitoring device configured to monitor at least one condition of a medium transported within the infrastructure system, wherein the housing is a nozzle cap, wherein the nozzle cap is constructed from a particular material, and wherein the antenna cover is constructed from a different material than the particular material of the nozzle cap.     An infrastructure monitoring system comprising:a fire hydrant in an infrastructure system;a housing comprising internal components and an exterior wall and mountable on the fire hydrant of the infrastructure system, the exterior wall defining a hole, the housing configured to engage with threading of the fire hydrant, and isolate the internal components from any fluid exterior to the housing;a sensor coupled to the housing, the sensor configured to sense at least one condition of a fluid within the infrastructure system;an antenna cover defining a cavity and comprising a material configured to allow signals to transmit therethrough;and an antenna extending through the hole of the exterior wall of the housing and within the cavity of the antenna cover;wherein the housing is a nozzle cap, wherein the nozzle cap is constructed from a particular material, and wherein the antenna cover is constructed from a different material than the particular material of the nozzle cap.     An infrastructure monitoring assembly comprising:a fire hydrant, the fire hydrant defining a nozzle;a nozzle cap, the nozzle cap comprising a metallic material, the nozzle cap attached to the nozzle and sealing the nozzle;an antenna cover attached to the nozzle cap, the antenna cover comprising a non-metallic material;and an antenna covered by the antenna cover.

    An infrastructure monitoring assembly comprising:a housing;an antenna disposed at least partially external to the housing;a sensor disposed within an enclosure of the housing;and a transmitter disposed within the enclosure, the transmitter configured to receive data from the sensor, the transmitter connected to the antenna through a hole defined by the housing, the transmitter configured to transmit data from the sensor through the antenna.
