System, method and computer program for an access control system

Abstract

#$%^&*AU2024201381B220250109.pdf##### SYSTEM, METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR AN ACCESS CONTROLSYSTEM Abstract A system, method, mobile communication device and one or more computer programs for an access control system for controlling access to a restricted area. In one form, the restricted area is a parking station. In one aspect, the system includes: a communication system; and a computer program executable by a mobile communication device configured to: receive one or more entry signals from the communication system when the entity approaches an entry point of a restricted area; transfer, to the communication system, an entry request; receive, from the communication system, authorisation data indicative of the entity being granted access to enter the restricted area by an access control system; receive one or more exit signals from the communication system when the entity approaches an exit point of the restricted area; and transfer, to the communication system, an exit request indicative of the authorisation data in order to exit the restricted area.

  1. 1
2024201381 06 May 2024 CLAIMS 1. A system including:a communication system;and a computer program executable by a mobile communication device associated with an entity, the entity being a user which is associated with a vehicle for parking within a restricted area, the restricted area being a vehicular parking area and having a barrier configured to restrict unauthorised entry to the vehicular parking area via an entry point, wherein the mobile communication device is configured to: receive one or more entry signals from the communication system when the entity approaches the entry point of the restricted area;after receiving the one or more entry signals, generate and transfer, to the communication system, an entry request for the barrier to be actuated;receive, from the communication system, authorisation data indicative of the entity being granted access to enter the restricted area;and generate and transfer, to the communication system, an exit request indicative of the authorisation data in order to exit the restricted area.
  2. 6
The system according to any one of claims 1 to 5, wherein the mobile communication device is configured to ignore exit signals from the communication system when the entity approaches an exit point of the restricted area if the mobile communication device has not received the authorisation data.
  3. 7
The system of any one of claims 1 to 6, wherein the communication system includes an entry communication device for transmitting the entry signal, the entry signal being indicative of a unique device identity or address for the entry communication device.
  4. 8
A computer program executable by a mobile communication device of a user, wherein the computer program configures the mobile communication device to:after receiving one or more entry signals from a communication system when the user approaches an entry point of a restricted area, generate and transfer, to the communication system, an entry request, wherein the user is associated with a vehicle for parking within a restricted area, the restricted area being a vehicular parking area and having a barrier configured to restrict unauthorised entry to the vehicular parking area via the entry point, wherein the entry request is for the barrier to be actuated;receive, from the communication system, authorisation data indicative of the user being granted access to enter the restricted area;and generate and transfer, to the communication system, an exit request indicative of the authorisation data in order to exit the restricted area.
  5. 13
The computer program according to any one of claims 8 to 12, wherein the mobile communication device is configured to ignore the signals from the communication system when the entity approaches an exit point of the restricted area if the mobile communication device has not received the authorisation data.
  6. 14
The computer program according to any one of claims 8 to 13, wherein the communication system includes an entry communication device for transmitting the entry signal, the entry signal being indicative of a unique device identity or address for the entry communication device.
  7. 15
A mobile communication device configured to:receive one or more entry signals from a communication system when a user of the mobile communication device approaches an entry point of a restricted area, the user being associated with a vehicle for parking within a restricted area, the restricted area being a vehicular parking area and having a barrier configured to restrict unauthorised entry to the vehicular parking area via the entry point;after receiving the one or more entry signals, generate and transfer, to the communication system, an entry request for the barrier to be actuated;receive, from the communication system, authorisation data indicative of the user being granted access to enter the restricted area;generate and transfer, to the communication system, an exit request indicative of the authorisation data in order to exit the restricted area.
  8. 19
The mobile communication device according to any one of claims 15 to 18, wherein the mobile communication device is configured to ignore exit signals from the communication system when the entity approaches an exit point of the restricted area if the mobile communication device has not received the authorisation data.
  9. 20
The mobile communication device according to any one of claims 15 to 19, wherein the communication system includes an entry communication device for transmitting the entry signal, the entry signal being indicative of a unique device identity or address for the entry communication device.
