System and method of expediting call establishment in mobile communications

Abstract

Call establishment is expedited in mobile communications (Fig. 17) While a mobile station is in a dormant state (element 1), the mobile station is prepared for a half duplex mobile communications telephone call (element 2). In response to a user's initiation of the half duplex mobile communications telephone call (element 3), the half duplex mobile communications telephone call is established based on the preparation of the mobile station (element 4).
