A locating device tissue comprising: at least one locator (200, 205, 912, 992) element adapted to penetrate tissue, having the localizer a proximal portion (210) element, generally straight, and a distal anchor (220), which is constructed and arranged to form a generally linear or flat configuration when received in a restriction member (300) and assume a generally curvilinear configuration around a target region upon deployment from the restriction member, characterized by that the distal anchor comprises a ribbon having a rectangular cross section, to provide a flat surface against which a surgeon may cut when cleaves a tissue volume contained by the deployed distal anchoring portion.
