Methods and apparatus for facilitating concurrent push-to-talk over cellular (POC) group communication sessions

A method for facilitating communication sessions Push to talk over Cellular, abbreviated as PoC, between mobile stations adapted to communicate via wireless signals in a wireless communication network, comprising: maintaining a first communication session push to talk over cellular (550) between a first user group (504) of mobile stations; and maintain a second PoC communication session (552) between a second user group (506) of mobile stations while simultaneously maintaining the first PoC communication session (550) between the first user group (504) of mobile stations in wherein at least a first mobile station (516) is a common member with both the first user group (504) as the second user group (506) in the first and the second PoC communication sessions (550, 552) and the first user group (504) of mobile stations has at least one second mobile station (510) which is not a member of the second group of users (506) outside of the second PoC communication session (552).
