The invention relates to a cooling device for a machine tool or the like having a circulation system in which circulates a cooling medium, said cooling medium of a temperature of the machine tool is fed, wherein the circulatory system associated with a dosing unit by means of the external cooling medium circulating in the circulatory system cooling medium is metered, and the metering unit is controlled via a controller.
