p0003State of the art
p0004The invention proceeds from a telecommunication terminal according to the preamble of the main claim.
p0005EP 0,526,715 Bl a support for a telephone handset is already known, in which a handset rests on an expiring in a plate pin. The plate and the pin can be produced from a transparent or translucent plastic. By the use of a translucent or transparent material, it is possible to illuminate the plate and possibly also the pin through an inside of the telecommunications terminal correspondingly arranged light source. This can be used for example for optical signaling of a call.
ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
p0007The telecommunications terminal according to the invention with the features of the main claim has the advantage that at least one key is provided from a translucent material and that the light source, the key function of the operating state of the Telecommunications terminal illuminated when an actuation of the button causes a function associated with this operating state. In this way, individual keys can signal separately different states of the telecommunication terminal. As only those keys are lit up that trigger the respective operating state assigned function, the selection of the possible in this operating state control functions the user is facilitated by key operation, thereby increasing clarity.
p0008The measures specified in the dependent claims, advantageous refinements and improvements of the main claim telecommunication terminal are possible.
p0009it is that the light source of an incoming call visually signaled that the light source illuminates the key during an incoming call and that a receipt of incoming by pressing the key is particularly advantageous
p0010Call occurs. In this way the user knows immediately which button must be pressed during an incoming call, because only this button is illuminated. The user must therefore required button is not looking only, so that the clarity increases for the user and saves time when the call is answered.
p0011A further advantage is that the button rests on an at least translucent in the area of key switch pad, and in that the button comprises a translucent pressure member which serves to contact when the button is pressed. In this way, no additional light guiding body are required to illuminate the key by means of the light source, since the switching mat and the pressure member additionally function as a light guide. On this way, material and manufacturing costs and the space requirement for an additional light guide can be saved. The smaller footprint is especially designed as a mobile telephone telecommunications terminals advantageous where it is particularly important to small size.
p0012A further advantage is that the circuit board in the region of the key has a bore and in that the light source is arranged on the side opposite the key side of the printed circuit board so that its light illuminates the key through the hole. In this way, the light source from being damaged by the pressure piece when the button is pressed is protected and guaranteed the supply of light from the light source to the button through the hole.
p0013Another advantage is that the illumination of the button goes out when a contact is made by pressing the key and if it helps to set a different operating condition of the telecommunications terminal. In this manner, a visually check on the successful operation of the key for the user.
p0014Another advantage is that the illumination of the button goes off by pressing the key upon receipt of the incoming call. In this way there is an option for visual inspection a successful receipt of the incoming call by pressing the button for the user.
p0015A further advantage is that the light source illuminates the flashing button. In this way, a more effective optical signaling is possible because the user's attention more on the current Operating state of the telecommunication terminal is directed for example to the input of a call. This is especially important if no additional acoustic signal is present. The user is made yet more quickly aware of the current operating status of the telecommunication terminal by the flashing lights.
p0016drawing
p0017An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. 1 shows a side view of a telecommunications terminal and 2 according to the invention, a top view of a switching dome for making contact above a hole for the light emission of a light source.
p0018Description of the embodiment
p0019In Figure 1, 1 denotes a telecommunication terminal, which can be designed, for example, a cellular telephone, a cordless telephone, a radio or the like. The telecommunication terminal 1 comprises a housing 50 with a recess 55 in which a key 10 is guided. The button 10 forms a hollow body, the outer walls 60 are integrally connected to a keypad 15, which is mounted inside the housing 50th The button 10 has in its interior a preferably cylindrical pressure piece 20, the so-called switching dome. This is 40 end facing provided on its circuit board with a blind hole 30th The button 10, the switching mat 15 and the switching dome 20 are made of an elastic, translucent material. The switching mat 15 may optionally be formed only in the area of the switching dome 20 of a translucent material. The switching dome 20 has on its - 5 -
p0020Annular end face on an outer edge of the blind hole 30, an electrically conductive material 25, preferably graphite. This acts as an electrical contact. The switching mat 15 rests on a printed circuit board 40th The circuit board 40 has on its key 10 side facing two metal mating contacts 35, which are arranged in the area of contact 25 that they are connected with a corresponding depression of the switching dome 20 through the contact 25 electrically conductive to each other. The two mating contacts 35 are arranged laterally on the edge of a hole 45 of the circuit board 40th remote from the switching dome 20 side of the circuit board 40 is designed as a light-emitting diode light source 5 on the circuit board 40. For example, as a Surface Mounted Device (SMD), wherein the light emitting diode 5 is just below the hole 45, so that the switching dome 20 by the LED 5 can be illuminated through the hole 45th
p0021In this case, according to Figure 2 the diameter of the blind hole 30 in the switch dome 20 slightly larger than the diameter of the hole 45 in the printed circuit board 40. The light path of the light emitting diode 5 is not by the switch contact 25 on the switch dome 20 and the side-mounted counter-contacts 35 on the PCB 40 affected as they are not in the optical path of the light-emitting diode. 5 The light from the light emitting diode 5 passes through the bore 45 by the blind hole 30 in the switching dome 20 for illuminating the key 10 a.
p0022The arrangement described can for other keys
p0023be provided telecommunications terminal 1, so that in this case also a plurality of keys of the telecommunication terminal 1 by a respective light emitting diode 5 can be illuminated. The light emitting diode 5 signaled thereby an operation state of the telecommunication terminal 1 optically. The light emitting diode 5 illuminates the key 10 in dependence on the operating state of the telecommunication terminal 1, when an operation of the button 10 causes a function associated with this operating state. If the key 10, for example, the call button of a mobile phone, so the LED 5 to indicate an incoming call optical and illuminates the button 10. The lighting can be designed also flashing to draw the user's attention to the incoming call. The optical signaling an incoming call can also serve as a support to the ringer or solely to signal an incoming call. Now, if the key 10 is pressed towards the circuit board 40, the switching dome 20 presses to the contact between the contact 25 to the mating contacts 35 a. By contacting thus carried out the operation of the call button is done in the case of an acceptance of the incoming call. Characterized the operating state of the telecommunication terminal 1 is changed. The telecommunication terminal 1 is now in the talk state or in a state of an established telecommunication connection. In this case, the illumination of the button 10 by the LED 5 goes out, there is in the call state actuating the call button not required and thus the user not offered through lighting. Releasing the key 10 these springs because of its elasticity back into a starting position. The switching dome 20 springs while back elastically and the contact between the contact 25 and the mating contacts 35 is interrupted again.
p0024The invention is not to designed as Fernsprechappparate telecommunications terminals limited, but - 7 -
p0025for any telecommunications terminal equipment, including for example, fax machines, pagers, etc. applicable.
p0026Depending on the operating state of the telecommunication terminal 1, more than one key 10 may be illuminated, these buttons trigger this operating state assigned function.
