Abrasive material

The invention relates to a method for producing an abrasive material, preferably for use in abrasive jet cutting, in particular abrasive water jet cutting. According to the invention an effective abrasive agent is to be produced which can be removed without great technical difficulty after use thereof in abrasive jet cutting. The above is achieved, wherein a titanium containing raw material, in particular Ilminite and/or titanium-containing slack is digested with sulphuric acid and from the resulting digestion solution and a digestion residue product is obtained by solid separation, in particular by filtration in the form of a solid-containing mass, in particular as an acid filter cake, optionally stored and provided to an abrasive jet cutting device in particular an abrasive water jet cutting device as abrasive material.
