TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
p0004The invention relates to a weapons holster with adjustable draw angle especially for handguns, comprising a holster dock for attaching the holster to a belt, or the like coupling. and a holster quiver to hold a weapon, particularly a handgun, the holster web and the holster quiver are connected rotatably with each other about a rotation axis that is defined by the relative position between holster dock and holster quiver drawing angle is adjustable. The invention further relates to a snap hinge unit particularly for weapons holster, by means of which different relative positions of the
p0005are latching joint unit interconnected parts adjustable.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
p0007Weapons Holster in question here are known, for example from US 2007/0023468 A1. They are usually used a weapon, particularly a handgun on a belt, a belt or the like. to wear, wherein the area defined by the relative position of holster web and serving for receiving the weapon holster quiver called pulling angle at which the gun from the
p0008Holster Quiver is drawn, is adjustable.
p0009Although weapons holster of stationary type in question here are primarily designed for carrying handguns and especially guns, they can in principle also for carrying other weapons such as knives and possibly also certain tools, such as hammers, for example, a craftsman, assembler or mountaineers wear on the belt and a hand would easily pull out of the holster, be formed. Since the problem of rapid Versteilens the pulling angle between a pleasant sitting position and a convenient standing position described in more detail below mainly in Carrying weapons and in particular provides handguns, the holster described herein is referred to as weapons holster without the application is intended to be limited by on holster for carrying weapons.
p0010Said adjustability of the pulling angle not only serves to keep the gun in a suitable for rapidly pulling the weapon for each weapon carrier angle, but also to bring the weapon eg while sitting in an emergency vehicle in a weapons carrier non-interfering position, in which, when it comes at the weapon to a handgun, the running almost parallel to eg a belt on which the weapon holster is fixed, runs. This allows then the armor bearer, easily to buckle in an emergency vehicle.
p0011In the weapons holster known from the aforementioned US patent, is provided between holster dock and holster quiver a snap hinge in which a locking projection form-fitting defining in one of several different die angle, engaged to the projection partially complementary locking recesses. For the adjustment of the pulling angle, the form-fitting connection has to be solved in that the latching protrusion is pushed by means of a separate actuator button out of the respective catch recess.
p0012From EP 1479998 A2 a weapon holster is known in which a form-fitting blocking by moving an a rotary member cylinder swiveling the weapon in a pleasant while sitting position is possible, in which the rotating element engages only in a single base position. Therefore, the holster quiver although after a single actuation of the cylinder shifting actuator without further operation of the actuator again be pivoted back into the predefined basic position but also the desired adjustability of the pulling angle is not given.
p0013From US 4,504,001 is a weapons holster old type, ie with a belt loop instead of the usual today Holster ridge, known wherein two formed with locking projections and locking recesses discs are provided such between holster quiver and belt loop, that each other by loosening a bolt and rotating of belt loop and holster quiver and then tightening the Mounting screw a particular drawing angle is fixed. A tool-free adjustment of the pulling angle or even a pivoting of the holster quiver into a comfortable position to sit is not possible.
p0014From FR 2761149 A a weapon holster is known in which the pulling angle is determined purely positively, are pressed into the holster web and holster quiver with the interposition of the friction-enhancing rubber ring and tightening a fixing screw up to today.
p0015US 2002/0148865 A1 from the a gun holster is known in which a by a
p0016Spring-biased detent element positively engages arranged on a circle locking recesses. A similar weapon holster is also described in DE 93 08 896 U1. In both it is holsters for adjusting the pulling angle necessary, the positive connection to be solved by pressing out the respective positive-locking element from the locking or detent depressions.
p0017If the concern is only to define a particular drawing angle, which is known from several of the above references procedure of releasing a positive locking of whatsoever articulated connection between holster quiver and holster web is problematic, since the
p0018Gun carrying person usually can adjust the its pleasant drawing angle in peace and it therefore does not matter whether how in the case of US 4,504,001, additional tools are needed, or, as in the case of the other above-mentioned documents a specific actuator must be pressed.
p0019Must however as an emergency vehicle to leave quickly and possibly the gun be pulled from the holster, it may in the then regularly prevailing stress situation represent an additional and possibly even dangerous additional burden when convenient for resetting the drawing angle from to sit in an emergency vehicle position in a suitable position for drawing the weapon an additional actuating element such as a one locking element of a positive locking position donating button must be pressed. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
p0020The invention has for its object to provide a weapons holster of the aforementioned type, in which the pulling angle easily adjustable, without requiring a separate tool is needed and without separate
p0021must be backup or jigs pressed or otherwise operated.
p0022The invention is also based on the object to provide a locking joint unit, which is particularly suitable for weapons holster the standing type in question here, and enables easy, tool-changing adjustment of the relative position of two on the locking hinge unit connected parts.
p0023The object is achieved by a weapon holster with the features of claim 1 or of a detent joint unit with the features of claim 16. Advantageous
p0024Refinements and developments are the subject matter of the respective subclaims.
p0025The weapons holster invention has the great advantage that a value held in the holster weapon not just in one sitting can be brought into a vehicle easily enabling position, but that, above all, after getting out of the vehicle the gun with a single movement without operation of any additional elements such as push buttons or can be brought into a pleasant for the wearer of the weapon up position like, with the particular advantage to be applied for the adjustment of the pulling angle
p0026Torque is adjustable to the individual user and the application in question, in particular the weight of the respective weapon.
p0027Further details and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following purely exemplary and non-limiting description of preferred

p0051This is a so-called safety holster, the two fuses for holding an inserted in a conventional manner in the holster quiver
p0052Handgun, in particular has a gun has, and of which only one, namely the loop is illustrated 14th
p0053The FIG. 3 shows a side view of the assembled holster, in which on the holster case 10 via the adapter plate 12, a holster web 16, of the for securing Holsters or the like by means of the recess 18 to a belt, a coupling. serves to the direction indicated by the dashed line 20 pivot is rotatably attached so that the area defined by the relative position between holster web 16 and holster quiver 10 draw angle is adjustable. These are between holster web 16 and holster case 10 latching projections plus a partially complementary locking recesses are provided, into which the locking projections can engage establishing various drawing angle, the adjustment of the pulling angle solely by application of the locking projections of the locking recesses releasing torque and twist holster dock and Holster Quiver against each other takes place about the axis of rotation and the torque is adjustable.
p0054As seen from Fig. 3, the axis of rotation 20 is preferably arranged so that it lies in the vicinity of the center of gravity in a holster for carrying the weapon. This has the advantage that it is not such as comes in Uhrpendeln to restoring moments that are trying to modify a user selected drawing angle.
p0055Holster Holster web and quiver are preferably made of hard plastic, in particular the holster quiver may be lined with a protective coating of the weapon and or the wearer's clothing of the holster or covered. The quiver can also consist of other materials, are made as leather, but is suitable for safety holster especially a hard plastic.
p0056In Figs. 4 to 13, the essential parts of a weapons are holsters shown in which a first embodiment is used by latching hinge unit, which is characterized in that the latching projections 22, of which for reasons of clarity, only a few have been provided with reference numerals, on a first disc 24 (see particularly FIGS. 10 and 11) and the locking recesses 26, of which for reasons of clarity is also only a few are provided with reference numerals, are formed on a second disk 28 that are biased against each other.
p0057The locking projections 22 are here designed as a ball segments and arranged on the circular disc 24 about the rotational axis, wherein the latching depressions 26 are arranged on the discs 28 in a complementary manner thereto. Preferably about 15 to 25 latching projections and a corresponding number of detent recesses are provided. The discs 24 and 28 are preferably made of spring steel.
p0058As shown in particular in Fig. 5 can clearly be seen, a recess for receiving one of the two discs, namely, in this embodiment, the disc 28 is provided with the recesses 26 in the holster web 16. The disc 28 is fixed in the recess in a suitable manner, eg glued or screwed to the holster web via the mounting holes 30th
p0059The disc 24 is provided in this embodiment on the to be attached to the holster quiver adapter plate 12, wherein the adapter plate 12 has a number of mounting holes 32 for attachment to the holster quiver. Of course, a reverse arrangement of the discs 24 and 28 is possible, therefore, an attachment of the disc 24 on the holster web 16. It is also possible to attach one of the discs directly to the holster quiver. However, the provision of an adapter plate has manufacturing advantages and also makes it possible to retrofit existing Holster quiver in inexpensive fashion.
p0060The two disks 24 and 28 are in this embodiment about a
p0061Screw Bundbuchse compound are biased against each other, in which a screw (not shown) one of the discs, here the disc 28, penetrates and in a the other of the discs, here the plate 24 penetrating Bundbuchse 34 screwed with a corresponding internal thread.
p0062The flange sleeve 34 has in this embodiment a recess 36, which serves as rotation lock, including in the adapter plate 12 a corresponding recess 38 (Fig. 8) is introduced. In the recesses a short cylinder can then be inserted, which then secures the collar bush from turning.
p0063In Figs. 14 to 19, the essential parts of a weapon holster are shown, in which a second embodiment is used by latching hinge unit, and the essential parts of such a locking joint unit, in which the latching projections of balls 40 (Fig. 19) are formed. The detent joint unit shown in Fig. 19 is used for about a rotation axis 20 rotatable and fixable at different rotational positions of connection of two parts, in particular a holster web and a holster quiver. In this case, the locking hinge unit 42 and 44 for attachment to a respective one of to be joined articulated to each other parts and between these joint elements latching projections and to partially complementary detent recesses on two rotatable about the rotation axis 20 hinge elements, in which engage the locking projections to define different positions of rotation. The adjustment of the rotational positions are formed exclusively by application of the locking projections of the locking recesses releasing torque and twisting of the joint elements against each other for
p0064Axis of rotation.
p0065In Fig. 19, the locking hinge assembly shown in a general form, in which one of the joint elements 44 serves for receiving the balls 40 and, may be 'formed such as shown in Fig. 17 in the form of an adapter plate 12, but need not be.
p0066At the other hinge element comprises a locking bush may be fixed or, as shown in Fig. 19, even form the other hinge element 44, wherein the locking bush is provided with a number of locking recesses 48, of which for reasons of clarity, only a few have been provided with reference numerals.
p0067In the embodiment shown in Fig. 19, the locking sleeve 44 is formed in two parts and consists of a applied to a cylinder 50 made of light metal, in particular aluminum ring 52 made of steel with detent recesses, which results in production engineering and weight-related advantages.
p0068The locking projections, as shown in Fig. 19, formed by balls 40 which are biased by spring elements 54in the direction of the detent recesses, whereby the torque is continuously adjustable.
p0069The balls 40 are arranged in radial to the axis of rotation 20 is introduced into the joint element 42 holes 56, which, as I said, the representation in FIG. 19 is more fundamental nature. In particular, the hinge member 42 is substantially thicker than shown in kind, so that the bores 56 have a necessary for receiving the balls and spring elements length. In the mounted state each have a ball 40 in one of the bores is then 56 to which the axis of rotation 20 nearest the end of the respective bore disposed and secured by a helical spring 54 in the direction of a at the other joint member or the other hinge member forming locking sleeve 44, with a number by locking recesses provided is biased, a screw, in particular a grub screw 58, the bore 56 on the axis of rotation opposite ends closes. It has proved to be advantageous when two to five, preferably three or four radially extending bores to the rotation axis and a corresponding number of balls are provided.
p0070In Figs. 14 to 18 the application of a similar to FIG. 19 formed Locking hinge unit is shown in a gun holster, wherein the holster web 16 'for receiving the latching sleeve 44, and the adapter plate 12' is formed as a hinge element in the manner of the joint element 42 and bores 56 'for receiving of balls, spring elements and grub screws, by means of which the necessary torque for the adjustment of the pulling angle is adjustable.
p0071Industrial Applicability
p0072The industrial application of weapon holsters and snap joint units of stationary type in question here is obvious. It should however be noted that the application also implies a new business process, namely the commercial retrofitting of existing weapons holster with locking hinge assemblies of the invention, so that then the pulling angle is also adjustable without tools with the holster. This procedure is hereby as the invention referred to duly and claimed in those countries where local legislation permits, as protectable.
