Uncompressed multimedia data transmission and switching
Abstract
The present invention provides an apparatus and method of data transmission and switching over an network, (Fig. 1) including users (150, 160, 170 and 175) such as Video/audio sources, video camera, with access devices (110, 120, 130 and 140), and network 180 such as fast Ethernet network. The method includes receiving a multimedia signal, assigning a channel alllocation priority to the multimedia signal, transmitting data including the channel allocation and performing video predictive coding on the multimedia signal to create a video pedictive coded multimedia signal and transmitting over the network in real time.
