Method for receiving radio signals via a radio channel

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for receiving radio signals via a radio channel. The inventive method is used for maintaining time synchronisation when radio signals are not received due to a failure. According to said method, symbols for time synchronisation in the received radio signals and a symbol which has been stored in the radio receiver are compared. Error values are determined during time synchronisation. Medial alligation of past error values is carried out. Time synchronisation is corrected by the currently calculated error value and by the mean value when reception does not take place. In a continuous duty with intermittent loading, a phase reference symbol can be used for determining the error value of time synchronisation. The inventive method allows for the use of a fixed frequency oscillator in the receiver because the reception performance is improved by the inventive method.

Claims 1. Method for receiving radio signals via a radio channel, whereby the radio signals, which are sent in frames, transmit side symbols are added in a frame clock for time synchronization, wherein a receiver is synchronized to the received symbols for time synchronization, by recognizing the symbols for time synchronization by the receiver, characterized, on receipt of radio signals with symbols for time synchronization, the received symbols are compared with symbols stored in the receiver (3), to get an error value in the time synchronization per frame clock, where the error value is a time difference value, a measure of the error values in the time synchronization is calculated over several received symbols (4), that the measure is stored in the receiver (5), in that, when receiving the radio signals with the symbols for time synchronization, the time synchronization is corrected by the last determined error value in the time synchronization (6), in a time interval without reception of radio signals, the temporal synchronization per frame clock is changed by the stored measure and that the time-synchronized radio signals are further processed in the receiver (7).
  2. 2
Second Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that an average value of the error values is used as the measure of the error values, so that, in the event of a reception failure, the time synchronization is corrected by the average value of the past error values.
  3. 4
4th Method according to Claim 2 or 3, characterized in that a fixed-frequency oscillator is used in the receiver for generating the frame clock.
  4. 5
5th Method according to Claim 2 or 3, characterized in that a TFPR symbol (10) is used as the symbol for time synchronization.
  5. 6
6th Method according to Claim 5, characterized in that an impulse response of the radio channel is determined from the TFPR symbol (10) and that the error value in the time synchronization is determined from the impulse response.
  6. 7
7th Method according to Claim 6, characterized in that the error values for past frame clocks in the time synchronization which exceed a predetermined difference compared to the average value are discarded. Method according to claim 7, characterized, calculating a first average value for error values before and and a second average value for the error values after an error value, wherein this error value deviates more than the predetermined difference from the average value for all error values, and that, if a difference between the two average values exceeds a predetermined value, the error values, used to calculate the first average, to be discarded, and now the error values, used to calculate the second average, continue to be used for the determination of the average value.
