p0005Video sequences, particularly music video clips, usually have copyright protection, which in particular the unauthorized reproduction prohibited. In the distribution of such video sequences is therefore to ensure that unauthorized duplication more will supply not supported, which is achieved for example by measures to prevent copying.
p0006It is eg. Known from the document DE4418191, to transmit corresponding digitized video images over phone lines. A disadvantage of such methods is the caused by the limited bandwidth of the transmission path or the limited image resolution quality. Furthermore, due to the necessary point to point connection no delivery to multiple recipients simultaneously.
p0007For digital video transmission and / or storage is currently usually MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) is used, which defines a set of standards for compressing audio and video data. MPEG Moreover shorthand for a video / audio file in MPEG format for different applications and requirements for the quality of the video information different compression types are defined. MPEG-1 is defined as the original MPEG standard for storage and retrieval of video and audio information, developed for the CD-ROM technology, a mean bandwidth of up to 1.5Mbps, two audio channels, and interlaced video free. MPEG-2 is defined as an extension of the MPEG-1 standards, for compressing high-high-order ger video signals and for Fernsehüb (rtragung was developed in HDTV, a higher bandwidth of up to 40 Mbps, five audio channels, a wider range of image sizes and interlaced video. an optimized specifically for MPEG-2, faster encryption algorithm is described ben, which allows encryption and decryption and verification of the complete data stream.
p0008Document DE19643672 discloses a method for de- encode a video bit stream according to the MPEG standard, each successively an I-picture and a P picture are cached. It must during the entire period of the video bit stream continuously m the required bandwidth are at your disposal, so present as live data.
p0009ADR radio programs (ASTRA digital radio) allow the transmission of digital data via a satellite. The European Satellite Multimedia Services SA allows with a continuous data stream high bandwidth their service ASTRA-NET, a DVB (digital ideo broadcastmg) after the MPEG-2 standard. Furthermore, support for batch file transfers at a lower bandwidth package delivery, the packet-switched transmission of digital data according to the Internet Protocol. The standards for the transmission of packet m networks are documented in the CCITT recommendation X.25.
p0010The document DE29800778 discloses an arrangement for transmitting digital data in MPEG format via a satellite under an ADR Hörfunkprograrnmes in which the satellite receiver to the PSK demodulation (phase- shift keymg) an MPEG decoder is directly associated with the continuously transmitted video sequence provides. A disadvantage of this solution is the need speed of live data or a continuous broadband transmission.
p0011The document DE29603829 discloses an interactive transmission and playback of video files in MPEG format, a Datenfernubertragungsstrecke between a server file and a reproducing computer is on request, is provided with which an MPEG file playback device. A disadvantage of this realization that not more than one recipient can receive the transmitted video file is the same. Likewise, the lack of security against unauthorized reproduction is disadvantageous.
p0012The object of the invention is the simple realization of safe delivery abgeforderter video sequences in professional quality to individual authorized recipients at low load of the transmission line and thus low transmission costs.
p0013The object is achieved by the features listed in the patent claim. 1 Preferred developments emerge from the dependent claims.
p0014The essence of the invention consists m the delivery of requested video sequences by means of specially developed for the compression of higher quality video signals MPEG-2 standards to ensure a professional image quality at an about his receiver-specific identification legitimate receivers as MPEG-2 Fιle interposition of a satellite-based packet-switched data transmission , Another essential aspect is the realization of a just the authorized recipient possible real z eitdekodierung this MPEG-2 -Files. This can be done advantageously by an encryption / decryption of MPEG-2 files by one nen video service provider-specific key in real time without storing unencrypted video sequences. In the advantageous embodiment of the described method for encryption / decryption and verification of the complete data stream in MPEG-2 Standard is special Chiffrieralgo- algorithm used for real-time decoding.
p0015It is conceivable coupled the requested video sequences to be transmitted with commercials.
p0016Furthermore, it is possible to automatically arrange an individual program compilation of video sequences by the receiver dynamically commercials according to the specifications of the video service provider, depending on the program duration for playback.
p0017The advantages of the invention consist in particular in the possibility • to view the contents of the video sequences, which were transferred advantageous over the network in MPEG-1 format on the computer to preview, to make an individual selection of video clips and to order them individually, • the abgeforderten video sequences on an inexpensive transmission path provided to the recipient of the highest quality,
p0018• To receive via the Direct Broadcast connection through multiple recipients video sequences, • these video clips to keep the receiver freely available, so it can create its own program,
p0019• an individual playback of video sequences, • unauthorized copying and use of video sequences excluded
p0020• Dynamic, automatically per Prograinmzusammensteilung occurring classification and playing commercials.
p0021The invention is explained in detail as exemplary embodiment with reference to FIG. 1 as an arrangement for delivery of video sequences.
p0022According to FIG. 1 is between a computer 1 of a receiver and a video service? a data connection through a network 3, for example. the Internet, through which the legitimate on a per-recipient identification 4 receiver from the range of the video service 2 single video sequences 5, for example. Music video clips, selects and requests, advantageously the content of the video sequences to view the Preview were transferred to the computer 1 via the network 3 in the MPEG-1 standard. At the end of the ordering process, the free space is advantageously tested of the receiver at the computer 1 and the reserved 5 disk space required for the reception of the video sequence. Too little memory usual procedures for the release of a lack of storage capacity must be carried out. The video service provider 2, which collects the individual requirements of different receivers, and preferably suitable grouped, the video sequences 5 - optionally via a broadband connection to the 6 for transmitting in MPEG-2 bandwidth required - in the form of MPEG-2 Fιles 7 a satellite transmitter 8 available, the video sequence 5 m individual packets 9 with the data consisting of parts of the MPEG-2 -Files 7 10 and coupling FInformation 11 disassembled and - preferably secured by a transfer encryption using DES 56bit (data encryption Standard) - transmits via an intermediate satellite 12, inter alia, to a satellite receiver 13 which is connected to the computer 1, which 10 stores the data on a storage unit fourteenth Here 13 is the satellite receiver respectively via the header 11 and the receiver-specific identification of the computer 4 1 ensures that only the computer 1 data 10 stores in the storage unit 14, in which they have determined. After successful transmission, storage and linking of data packets 10 of all 9 the MPEG-2 Fιle 7 is present on the storage unit 14th To ensure the protection against unauthorized copying the MPEG-2 video sequence includes File 7 5 m an encrypted form. The playback of the video sequence 5 from the MPEG-2 Fιle 7 by means of the computer 1 associated MPEG-2 -Decoders 15 is therefore only using a video service provider-specific playback software 16 possible that using the temporary memory in the computer 1 and MPEG-2 -Decoders 15, the decryption and decoding of the video sequence 5 carries out in real time and finally outputs this as a video signal 18 without non-encrypted video sequences 5 to store. Since the video sequence 5 m only real time as a video signal 18 at the output of the MPEG-2 -Decoders 15 is present, the unauthorized copying and use is this not supported. The for decrypting the Videose- frequency 5 necessary key 17 is preferably integrated as updateable part in the video service provider-specific playback software 16, which are preferably in for all eligible recipients alike. It is advantageous to use the encryption and verification of the complete data stream optimized in the MPEG-2 standard, fast encryption algorithm for decryption, for example. The case of the DVD (digital video disk) used algorithm.
p0023It is conceivable, however, and also in the context of the invention, applied to encoding or decoding a public-key method, the necessary real-time decoding of the video sequence 5 key 17 is calculated only from the recipient-specific identification 4 and only temporarily present. It is also advantageously possible to specify the MPEG-2 decoder 15 such that a decoupling of the output of the video sequence 5 as a video signal 18 is possible with respect to the monitor signal of the computer 1, whereby the reproduction of the video sequence 5 as a video signal 18 in the manner of a background application allows is. Likewise, it is conceivable to place 15 a graphic on the video output of MPEG-2 -Decoders, and to continue working at the same time on the monitor of the computer 1 in a program.
p0024A particularly advantageous embodiment consists in the integration of the satellite receiver 13 to the computer 1, the storage unit 14, the MPEG-2 decoder 15 and the video service provider-specific playback software 16 in a set-top box 19 (modem / ISDN) Power Connector. This is in addition to interactive television and television shopping the enables individual terms of video sequences 5 and their reproduction.
p0025interesting especially for the commerziellen area is the possibility of coupling of video sequences with 5 com- mercials. A video service 2 functions here at the same time as commercial provider and assigns the compiled for different recipients according Abforderung video sequences 5 a number of commercials for, but also a separate transmission of commercials is possible. The transfer, storage and playback occurs principally under the same conditions as for the video sequences 5. The receiver can choose freely from the stored on the storage unit 14 video sequences 5 and therefrom individually compile a program. This program will be attached to a certain, beyond the control of the receiver, number of commercials for a given effort from video service provider unit of time. Playback is between, for example, music video clips in an irregular arrangement.
