To all whom it may concern:

Bp_it known that I, George H. Febnald, a citizen q£ the United States, residing at North East, in the county of Erie and State 5 of Pennsylvania, have invented new and useful luiproyements in Rein-Holders, of which the following is fc^l specification.

Tins invention relates to rein holders and consists of certain improvements of the.coni o strUction thereof, as will be hereinafter fully described and pointed out in the claim.

The object of the invention is to provide a rem holder which can be readily attached to a dash, which will engage the dash so as to 15 prevent side slipping thereof, and one in which the reinis may be readily placed.

The invention is illustrated* in the accompanying drawings as follows. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the rein holder ac and reins, the dash and other parts being ’ shown in dotted· lines. Fig.. 2 a perspective view of the rein holder. Fig. 3, a section on the line 3—3 in Fig. 2.

. A marks reins and B the rein holder. The rein holder comprises the dash clamp B' and ¹ the rein clamp B*. The rein clamp is formed by tne spring loop δ having the sides b' b². These sides have the concave inner surfaces b³ fr which fit around the rib c of the dash C jo. as clearly shown in Fig. 3. /This shape csf the dash clamp so engages the rib of the dash as to j . prevent side slipping on the dash and at the same time it directly engages the rib of L. dash so that the leather of the dash is not strained. Both, of these features add to the 35 ' desirability of the clamp in that they preven t largely the marring of the leather of the dash.

The rein clamp B² is formed by the side b^spreferably bent from the .side V; the spring loop δ^β; and the opposite side of the clamp δ⁷. io An extension δ· is arranged on the end of the side δ⁷, and it is of sufficient length to permit of the reins being placed back of the extension so that the extension may be pulled outwardly-by the engagement of the reins to 45 open the clamp. The reins may then be ?“PP^e<i sidewise to bring them between the jaws of the clamp. This adds to the convenience of securing the reins. '·
