TO ALL. WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, Theodore F. Bigelow, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk, and State of Massachu, setts, have invented a new Apparatus for Serving Vegetables, or “Jardiniere;” and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which—

Figure 1 is a view of the “jardiniere,” with a portion of the top removed.

Figure 2 is a section of the same on the line x x.

Figure 3 is a view of a different construction, of the same article.

Figure 4 is a partial section of the same on the line y y.

The object of my invention.is to provide a useful article for the tables of those persons who do not wish servants to attend them at meals, and I have contrived a stand, to be set in the middle of the table, and to hold dishes of vegetables or other articles, in such a manner that it can be revolved by any person desiring to reach a dish which is on the opposite side.

The arrangement, which is shown in figs. 1 and 2, contains a base; A, slightly raised from the table, and having its centre pivoted to a top, B, the sides of the top covering the base, A. Rollers C are attached to the top, B, and move on a circular track, D.

In figs. 3 and 4,1 have shown an arrangement, by which shelves, E, may be connected with the top B, having openings in the sides for the reception of plates.

It is obvious that this article may be made in various forms, without changing the essential features of my invention; Us, for instance, circular or many sided; that the track D may be dispensed with; that the journal may be made in a different manner, and that it may be highly ornamented.
