IMPROVEMENT IN METALLIC PAVEMENTS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 70,076. dated October 22, 1867.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Jeremiah Dean, of West Roxbury, in the county of Norfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Metallic Pavement for Streets and Highways; and I do hereby declare that tbe followingisafullandexactdescription thereof:

The nature of my invention consists in forming the pavement-blocks of convenient size, with grooves and projections of any shape, fitting each other, by which the whole mass is sustained on a uniform level, and a keyblock with perpendicular dovetails binding the whole together, allowing sufficient space for the expansion of metals, reference being had to the annexed drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification, in which—
