REFRIGERATOR.

To alb whom it may concern,:

Be it known that I, Hermann Robinsohn, chief engineer, a citizen of the German Empire, residing at Cauerstrasse 35, Charlotten5 burg, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Refrigerators; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in io the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to refrigerators, and has for its object to provide a 'structure of this class in which are contained a double15 walled case and double-walled door, the walls of which are connected only by non-conducting materials, the food-chamber being hermetically closed, non-conducting stays for increasing the stability of the case, and an 20 ice-box suspended in the food-chamber for supporting the ice and receiving and retaining the water produced by the melting thereof.

_ With this object in view my invention consists in the improved construction, arrange25 ment, and combination of parts hereinafter fully described and afterward specifically claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a vertical section through the case con30 structed in accordance with my invention. Fig. .2 is an enlarged sectional view of a connection or stay between the outer and inner walls.

Insulating-frames are arranged at the joints 35 between the double walls i' q' of the door and the double walls i q of the ease, respectively, which frames consist of asbestos pasteboard a, with insulating-paper e at the inside and , impermeable asbestos texture or fabric b at 40 the outside. Wooden strips cl d cl' d' are provided at the edges of the insulating materials, by means of which the insulating materials α δ c a' δ' c' are fastened to the walls q i of the ciise and to the walls q' i' of the door, re45 spectiyely. If the refrigerator is closed, it is impossible for the frigidity to find a convenient way of escape to the outside, as the insulating layer is no- 65 where interrupted.

To increase the stability of the case, nonconducting stays are properly secured between the outer and inner walls of the case, as shown in Fig. 2 on an enlarged scale. 70 The stays are made of thick asbestos pasteboard e, supported by wooden strips/, which are fastened 115⁷ screws /' to the outer and inner walls q i of the case, the space between strips β and/being filled with non-conduct- 75 ing material g.
