TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, Adaline Rose, of Bath, in the county of Steuben, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful improvements in “ Carpet-Sacksand do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and the letters of reference marked thereon. .

In the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, A represents a carpet-sack, which is of leather, carpeting, or other suitable material, and somewhat longer than the ordinary sacks. At each side of the handles, and extendingfrom the mouth to the bottom of the sack, on each side of the carpet-sack, are leather straps, B B, which are held in their places by keepers, C. Near the bottom of the straps B are buckles, x x, which connect.'the two ends of the straps, as will-be hereinafter set forth.

The object of my invention is the construction of a carpet-sack which may be used for a larger or smaller amount of clothing. It will be seen that the straps are provided with a series of openings through which the buckle-pin passes, so as to connect the two ends of the said straps for the purpose of drawing the carpet-sack together, (as shown in Figure 2,) to be used for a smaller or larger amount of clothing.
